GDUF can trace its history back to the founding of Guangzhou Banking School in

1950, which was governed by the history South China Branch of People’s Bank of

China. The past six decades witnessed four significant developing periods: from

offering training courses to educating for academic degree; from technical secondary

school to college education; from college to university; presently, GDUF becomes one

of those offering master’s degree for the students majoring in Finance. It is evident that

GDUF is “beginning with Finance, operating for Finance, and prospering with Finance”.

GDUF has cultivated more than 160,000 talents in the fields of economy and finance,

which makes GDUF the “cradle of talents in finance and economics”.

With 2 campuses, namely the main

campus situated in Longdong in the

vicinity of South China Botanical Garden,

Guangzhou and the ZhaoQing campus

which is by the side of the scenic spot

Seven Star Lake, GDUF now occupies a

total area of 55,000 square meters. The

campuses are so attractive that they are

honored with the title “Excellent Garden-

style Campus”.

The campuses of GDUF are well-equipped with several state-level and provincial-level

demonstration experimental teaching centers, innovation experimental areas and college

students’ practicing teaching bases. They are: one state-level demonstration feature

specialty construction center, one state-level practice teaching base for college students,

five provincial level pilot reform majors, four provincial level feature specialties, two

provincial level demonstration majors for applied talent, three provincial-level talent-training

innovation experimental areas, six provincial-level demonstration experimental teaching

centers, seven provincial-level college students’ practicing teaching bases. GDUF has

established Guangzhou Monetary and Finance Museum with a collection of 35,000 articles

of world currency, which is the largest in southern China. The book collection in the library

includes nearly 2000,000 paper documents, 1350,000 e-books and thousands of original

edition academic journals. Besides, GDUF has as many as 50 professional experimental

labs and language experimental centers. In addition, a set of facilities for recreation and

physical exercises is available.

学校设有4个二级学院，14个系（部），现有32个本科专业，42个体现金融行业特色

的专业方向，涵盖经济学、管理学、法学、文学、理学、工学6个学科门类。其中，金融

学是广东省重点学科和国家级特色专业，保险、劳动与社会保障、市场营销专业则被列为

广东省特色专业，信用管理专业则是华南地区高校唯一设立的本科专业。全日制在校生规

模（普通本科生、研究生）22000多人。

GDUF, now consisting of 4 colleges, 14 departments, provides 32

undergraduate majors, which cover 42 specialties in financial industry,

including 6 discipline categories such as Economics, Management, Law, Liberal

Arts, Science and Engineering. Among the 42 specialties, Finance is now the

state-level brand specialty and a key discipline in Guangdong Province.

Insurance, Labor and Social Security and Marketing are the key disciplines of

Guangdong Province. As the unique subject, Credit Administration in our

university is the only one of its kind in southern China. At this moment, the total

number of full-time students (both undergraduates and graduates) has reached

over 22,000.

GDUF operates on the motto of cultivating the graduates “to be virtuous, intelligent,

determined, aspiring”. We advocate that the teachers should encourage learning and

devoting themselves to teaching. They should be objective and innovative as well. GDUF

College of International Programs (CIP) is an educational division of

Guangdong University of Finance (GDUF), committed to enrollment and academic

management of GDUF’s overseas studying programs, international joint programs

and international student programs. CIP adopts international education mode for

all these programs. Taking advantage of GDUF’s powerful educational resources,

CIP establishes a comprehensive educational and administrative system by

incorporating high quality pedagogical methods and resources, including

curriculum and textbook, to guarantee teaching quality and thereby provide

comprehensive, regulated, economical and consistent international education for

all students. The graduates with international educational background will work in

southern China, for example Guangzhou, to meet the requirements of establishing

international centers of finance, business, trade and services.

Up to now, more than twenty famous universities around the world have

signed cooperative agreements and set up cooperative relationship with

GDUF, i.e., Monash University (AUS), University of Western Australia (AUS),

Griffith University (AUS), Portland State University (USA), California State

University Northridge (USA), Utica College (USA), University of West Alabama

(USA), St. Ambrose University (USA), University of Nottingham (UK),

University of the West of England (UK), Keele University (UK), London

Metropolitan University (UK), Saint Mary’s University (CAN), Université du

Québec (CAN)，L’Université Paris Diderot—Paris VII (FRA), L’Université de

Cergy—Pontoise (FRA), L’Université de Valenciennes et du Hainaut

Cambrésis (FRA), and Linnaeus University (SWE). In 2013, Guangdong-

Nottingham Advanced Finance Institute was established under the cooperation

framework agreement signed by GDUF and University of Nottingham, aiming at

cultivating high-end financial talents in South China, promoting financial

innovation and contributing to the construction of Strong Financial Provinces.

基础、秘书学概论、秘书专业写作、商务文书写作、公共关系学、秘书礼仪、秘书实务、秘书档

案管理、商贸实务概论、管理学、国际贸易和专业选修课等。

BA in Chinese Language and Literature:

① Chinese Language and Culture:

Provides courses focusing on Chinese Language, Chinese Culture, Educational

Psychology and teaching skills. Upon graduation, students can engage in such fields as

Chinese teaching, tourism, diplomacy, translation, journalism, etc.

② Business Chinese:

Based on the economic characteristics of the Guangdong region, integrated with the

economic content of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the courses cultivate language

skills and professional skills in secretary, management, public relations, program

planning, and business activities.

会计学、管理学、统计学、市场营销、经济法、财务管理、经济学、组织行为学、现代企业制

修完学业并取得规定学分的学生，通过论文答辩， HSK成绩达到四级，准予毕业，获得广东金

融学院本科毕业证书；HSK成绩达到四级，授予相应的经济学、管理学、法学、理学、文学、工学

等学士学位。

Graduates can be awarded with graduation diploma and corresponding bachelor

degree if the followings are met:

(1) Attaining all the compulsory credits;

(2) Thesis approved;

(3) Obtain HSK 4.
