How to Use this Resource

This math center resource includes materials that will allow your studentsto practice the skills of comparing, ordering and sorting numbers in order

to develop an understanding and awareness of number.

There are 3 sets of cards included. The first set includes the numbers from 1

to 20, the second set includes numbers between 1 and 50 and the third

set includes numbers between 1 and 100. Along with each set are task

cards that are based on the skills of:

x ordering numbers from least to greatestx ordering numbers from greatest to leastx greater than/less thanx even and oddx sorting numbers

Having 3 sets of increasingly difficult cards will allow you to have all

students performing similar tasks while:

x targeting your specific grade levelx providing enrichment and scaffolding to students who require it

To use this resource, place the number cards and task cards at a

designated math center. You may choose to supply only one task card at

a time, or more than one. Students can work independently or with a

partner to complete the task on each card. It is recommended to

prepare several copies of each set of cards. To make it easier to keep

track of which set belongs together, mount the cards on colored

construction paper before laminating.

This resource is also great to use for students who finish their work early.
