    Apple Meringue or Crumble Pie

    Ingredients: Equipment:

    100g p flour large bowl

    50g butter dinner knife

    cooking apple saucepan

    1 egg( for meringue) electric whisk

    35g sugar(meringue) 3 small tins

    50g p flour(crumble) tblspoon

    25g butter(crumble) cooling tray

    13g sugar(crumble)

    Method:

    1.First make the pastry by rubbing the butter into the flour tomake fine breadcrumbs. Add 8-10 teaspoons ofcold water and

    bring the dough together. Roll out and line each tin.

    2.Put into the oven and bake blind for 10 minutes.3.Cut up the apple and stew in a saucepan with not much water

    until soft.

    4.Remove the pastry from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.5.

    For the meringue, separate the egg you only need the white. Putinto a bowl and whisk until stiff peaks, add the sugar and whisk

    again. For the crumble, rub together the flour, butter and sugar.

    You can add some oats as well for texture and fibre.

    6.Spoon some apple into each case and then top with meringue orcrumble.

    7.Put it back into the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes untilgolden.

    8.Remove and let cool before eating.
