    FTZ User: Apple Inc./GTAT Corp. (Project Cascade)

    Zone: Proposed Subzone within FTZ No. 221 City of Mesa. Proposed Subzone

    Application is currently under review at the FTZ Board.

    Site: Site number will be provided upon approval of the Application mentioned

    above.

    Facility Addresses: 3740 S. Signal Butte Rd., Mesa, AZ within Maricopa County

    (83.17+/- acres).

    Proposed Activity

    2. Provide a short summary (generally no more than a few paragraphs) of the activitythat you propose to conduct under FTZ procedures.Project Cascade will conduct high-tech manufacturing of intermediate goods/components

    for consumer electronics. All finished components will be exported.

    This high-tech manufacturing process will create a critical new sub-component of Apple

    Products to be used in the manufacture of the consumer electronics that will be imported

    and then sold globally. By pulling this process into the U.S., Apple will be using cutting

    edge, new technology to enhance and improve the consumer products, making them best

    in class per product type.

    At this time there are no items used in the production of finished goods that willbe admitted into the Zone in Zone status that are subject to AD/CVD orders.

    FTZ procedures. Your list of finished products and foreign-status components/inputs

    should encompass both actual/planned activity and potential activity for which you

    request authority. Any FTZ Board authorization of the activity in your notification

    would only extend to the specific finished products and foreign-status

    components/inputs listed in your notification (that is, your scope of authority). For

    each finished product and foreign-status component/input, provide a physical

    description (not the description from the HTSUS), 6-digit HTSUS number, and current

    U.S. duty rate.
