Lee Beckett Legacy Scholarship

Applicants must be a graduating senior of Nelsonville-York High School. Plan to pursue post-secondary education, either full or part-time, at an accredited vocational or technical training program, community college, college or university. Student applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.00 scale. A personal essay demonstrating balance in life activity and community engagement – academic, extracurricular, employment and volunteer service. Scholarship recipients agree to participate in ten hours of community service, five hours per semester (or 2.5 per quarter), during the academic year of the scholarship award. Applicants must be a graduate of Buckeye Trail High School, Cambridge High School, Meadowbrook High School or any other Guernsey County High School. Applicants must have obtained or will obtain a high school diploma and show proof of acceptance at a vocational school, college, or university. Applicants must demonstrate a strong work ethic and good ethical character as evidenced by personal conduct, values, and attitudes and behaviors toward others. An applicant’s community service will be assessed as evidenced by leadership, service, activities and references. Financial need of the candidate will be considered. Guernsey County Educational Assistance Grant Fund Scholarships

The Fund supports students who are residents of Guernsey County at the time of their graduation or those with an equivalent degree and 10 years of residency in the county. These scholarships are available for four years and can be used in non-consecutive years and for varied educational pursuits, including technical schools and graduate schools. Guernsey County citizens who may be returning to school years after completing their high school degrees can also make use of the scholarships.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program

100 scholarships will be awarded to undergraduates interested in four-year degrees in the chemical sciences. Awards to adolescent mathematics and science teachers in southern and eastern Ohio. Deloitte & Touche is very interested in cultivating relationships with their scholars and they will be strongly encouraged to apply and interview for an internship or work-study program with Deloitte during their college careers, although these opportunities are not required to receive the scholarship. Earl F. Morris Scholarship

Several scholarships of approximately $2,500 are available for students preparing for a legal career. These awards are for undergraduate study at any Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) college. Deadline is April 30.

Energy Cooperative Children of Members Scholarships

Scholarships to high school seniors whose parents/guardians are members of the Energy Cooperative. Six awards in each Boys and Girls Division. First place is $2,000, and Second place is $1,000. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA and be enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school. They suggest students contact high school counselors for assistance.
