General

This booklet describes the annual maintenance procedure, provides instruction on thereplacement of faulty parts and information on fault finding and spare part identification.

Before commencing work slide off the bottom cover and slide the gas valve operating button in thedirection of the arrow to turn off the pilot. Allow the boiler to cool. Isolate the electricity supplyand turn off the gas supply at the service tap, see frame 36.

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS test for gas soundness after completing any servicing or exchange of gascarrying components. Ensure that the inner case seal is intact and the case properly fitted afterservicing or replacement of parts.

Preliminary electrical system checks as contained in the BGC multimeter instructions book are the firstelectrical checks to be carried out during a fault finding procedure. On completion of the service/faultfinding task which has required the breaking and remaking of electrical connections, then the checks - A.Earth Continuity, C. Polarity and D. Resistance to Earth - must be repeated.
