How To Apply RTV Silicone Gasket CorrectlyNon Sag Type -Clean metal surfaces thoroughly, making sure both surfaces are completely oil free.Use ThreeBond Cleaners to eliminated oily residue on surfaces p/n 6602CO or 6602T.

Apply only a 2 to 4mm bead to the clean metal surface and wait for the silicone to become TACK FREE – This means the silicone has formed a thin non tacky skin on top. Now assemble the two parts together.For maximum adhesion and strength allow to cure for 24 hours before putting oils in or starting engine.

Sag type sealants –Apply a thin smear to complete surface and allow becoming tacky, and then assembling.For maximum adhesion and strength allow for complete cure. Full cure time is 24 hours.

DO NOT assemble when silicone is still wet, letting the silicone form a bead and tack off starts the curing process and eliminates warranty issues.
