Our StartThe Bay Equity Story:

Bay Equity opened its doors in 2008, in the midst of the recession, as many other mortgage lenders were closing theirs. A group of mortgage professionals led by three brothers, Brett, Casey and Jon McGovern, recognized the need for a new type of mortgage lender. Their new lender had to embrace the highest standards, provide exceptional customer service and be committed to lasting relationships.

Bay Equity has hired accomplished mortgage and financial professionals at all levels and has proudly assembled a highly experienced staff of corporate executives, operations professionals and sales people.

Brett McGovernPresident

Casey McGovernChief Operating Officer

Brett McGovern is a Founder, the President and Board Member of Bay Equity LLC. Mr. McGovern has more than 16 years experience in real estate sales and lending. Prior to co-founding Bay Equity, he was a Senior Vice President of Grubb & Ellis Company in San Francisco. He is responsible for key corporate functions including investor and warehouse line relations, oversight of accounting and secondary functions, marketing and corporate communications.

Casey McGovern is a Founder, a Managing Director and Board Member of Bay Equity LLC. Mr. McGovern is in his tenth year as a mortgage industry sales professional. He is responsible for managing Bay Equity’s wholesale and retail loan production.

John CadyEVP – National Retail Production

Mr. Cady brings more than 20 years of mortgage lending expertise to Bay Equity. He is responsible for the company’s retail platform. He is a highly experienced sales executive with a solid track record of recruiting and growing retail lending divisions.

Jon McGovernChief Administrative Officer

Jon McGovern is a Founder, a Managing Director and a Board Member of Bay Equity LLC. Mr. McGovern has 18 years experience in real estate lending. His broad experience covers underwriting, sales and executive management. He is responsible for key corporate functions including human resources, operations and technology.
