THANK YOU GINGERIt is with great sadness that we inform you of thepassing of Ginger Tamborello. Ginger passed awayyesterday at 9:33 p.m. after losing her battle to cancer.Ginger dedicated 18 years to St. Theresa CatholicChurch, in addition to nearly three decades at otherchurches in the Archdiocese. Her legacy of service tothe church, love for the entire Body of Christ, andexemplary Catholic education inspired us all. We at St.Theresa were privileged that Ginger spent nearly twodecades of her career here at our parish, foreverchanging the lives of those fortunate enough to meether.

Ginger’s friends say that she was honest, faithful, caring, determined, loyal, and courageous…a lifetimeof service by a woman described thus was truly a giftto our Parish and our Church.

Ginger could always see the potential of any “mustardseed” that God placed in her path. She knew thepower of a smile, a kind word, a friendly welcome. Shealso knew the power of encouragement—sometimesmore encouragement than others had bargained for!"Ginger made all the difference in restoring thestrength and confidence that I had lost when myhusband passed away."

In the words of another close friend, “Ginger lived, expressed, and shared her Catholic faith to her friends, family, co-workers, and to those she evangelized. Shewas an excellent Catholic educator that embraced forothers a Catholic vision of the world shaped byreflection, action, service, sacraments, and prayer.”

Ginger embodied the plea of St. Theresa of Avila when

she wrote, “Christ has no body now but yours. Nohands, no feet on earth but yours.” To the women whoshared their stories above, to countless childreneducated in the faith, to RCIA candidatesaccompanied throughout the years, to parishionersand coworkers and friends…Ginger lived the mission. She was the hands and feet of Christ to so many ofGod’s beloved children. She was truly life-giving to ourparish and our world.

Thank you, Ginger. Thank you for showing Christ to somany over the years. “Eternal rest grant unto her, OLord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May thesouls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy ofGod, rest in peace.“ Amen.

WORD ON FIRE ENGAGE!Why everyone desires God (even atheists!)

God has created us with a longing that only he can fill.Of course, we try to satisfy that longing with all sorts of other things, such aspleasure, power, honor, and wealth. But nothing in this world satisfies. No matter how much we get, we want more. And that causes deep frustration and sadness. So what’s the answer? We must empty ourselves so that we can let God, who isperfect and eternal, fill us with himself. Then we will be eternally satisfied.Watch this short video to learn more:

Questions:

St. Thomas Aquinas thought our desires pointed to God’s existence. What doyou think of this “argument from desire”?Which of the four “idols” of pleasure, power, honor, and wealth do you tend toseek most often?

After watching, please add a comment sharing your thoughts.
