Camera-ready is defined as all ad materials (documents, fonts, artwork, etc.) provided by computer disk, email or web site and ad is built to the correct size and adheres to specifications below.
• Preferred submission file type is a high resolution PDF, with fonts NOT outlined and CMYK colors used.
• Ads of file type: EPS, JPG, PDF & TIF are accepted as well as files created in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Please do NOT outine type in URLs (www.yyyy.com), because the digital edition will not be able to detect it as a live link. Publisher files are NOT ACCEPTABLE. Microsoft Word ads are NOT considered camera ready.
• Regardless of file type (EPS, PDF, INDD, etc.) submitted, if photos are NOT embedded and/or fonts are NOT outlined, customer must also supply all photos and fonts used in the ad. Fonts and images must be resupplied each time the ad is submitted and include both Printer and Screen fonts.
• All linked photos/images should be saved as TIF, EPS, JPG or EPS. Grayscale or CMYK only with a resolution (dpi) of 200 for grayscale and 300 for color (high resolution quality). Please convert all Pantone or RGB colors to CMYK and save all files with the appropriate extension. All blacks used should be 100% black only, not a combination of Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black. PANTONE colors are NOT accepted and will be converted to CMYK.
• When building an ad for a full-page bleed please use the bleed and trim sizes at the bottom of the size chart. The full-page size at the top of the size chart is only for ads that do not bleed. Only full page ads bleed, all other ads should be built to the sizes indicated in the size chart above.
• Emailed ads should be named according to advertiser and not publication, and preferably have the advertiser’s name flagged in the subject line of the email. Compress (stuff or zip) your ad with “Stuffit” or a similar compression program and make sure the attachment is not over 15 MBs. For any files larger than 15MBs or too large to email in pieces, please submit the ad on CD or via FTP. You may also use the free sites such as Dropbox, YouSendIt.com or SendSpace.com to upload your file.
Please follow these guidelines to ensure that your ad prints properly. If these guidelines are not followed, L.A. Parent will not be held responsible for the poor printing quality of your ad.
