Prayer Of Invocation/Confession
Great and Gracious God, we come to
You this morning with thanksgiving
and joy for this, Your new year. The
glory and honor belongs to You! We
rejoice when we think about new
possibilities and new beginnings. We
embrace the dawn of a new life, and the
blessing of life with You. Guide us to
open our hearts to Your love and open
our minds to Your wisdom. Help us
this new year to serve, especially the
least, the last and the lost. We are
aware of our faults and shortcomings.
Challenge us to rise to a new level of
faithfulness. We desire a closer walk
with You in all we do and say. We pray
this new day, in the name of the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. Amen!
OFFERTORY PRAYER Our heavenly Father, we come
thanking You for laying our sins on
Jesus Christ and for His being willing
to die on the cross in our place. Help
each of us to share in the burden of
carrying the good news of Your love to
those who are still in darkness and
spiritual death. Help our giving to be a
light in this world. Bless the tithes and
offerings we give. In Jesus' name, we
pray. Amen!
"Give unto the Lord the glory due unto
his name: bring an offering, and come
before him: worship the Lord in the
beauty of holiness." 1 Chronicles 16:29

EVERY SECOND SUNDAY MENTORING FOR YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS
Crown Forum – Males (ages: 12-17) Young Ladies of Poise and Purpose – (ages: 12-17)
Young Women of Destiny – (ages: 18-25) My Brother’s Keeper – (ages: 18-25)
Johann Sebastian Bach was God's man. His creative gifts were given to him
by God. God was able to pour His Word and His Spirit into the music and
ministry of that great musician. Bach was a man of deep personal faith. He
knew the loveliness of God's presence and he knew sorrow. His wife and
seven of his children all died young. He gradually lost his sight but he never
lost his hope or his courage because he knew God continued to hold him
and sustain him every moment of his life. "Only for the glory of God" was
written at the top of his works. "With the help of Lord Jesus Christ" were
at the conclusion. That is something to think about.
