FROM THE DESK OF OUR PRINCIPAL

Student Leaders Badges We are very much looking forward to seeing the Mayor of Wyndham at a special Assembly where the badges will be presented to the Student Leaders and photos are taken. This Assembly will be held on Friday the 22nd of March at 9 am at Derrimut Heath and 10am at the Tarneit campus. We will look forward to seeing you there especially if you have children who are receiving their badge.

Earlyact The Earlyact Badges will be presented to those Primary College Leaders on Wednesday the 3rd of April in the Arts Centre at the Tarneit Campus at 7pm. We are very proud to have a Rotary sponsored Leadership Program for our Primary students and the special evening where they receive their shirt and badge is always a source of pride for the families involved.

Student Attendance It is really important that your child is at school every day. Should this not be possible you must inform the school as to why your child is not at school. Obviously if a child is sick they should be home. A call to either school will be gratefully accepted or send a note to explain the absence. Please be aware that we are required to inform the Education Department should children be absent for a long time and/or on a regular basis. We would always let you know before we do this and we can only inform you if we have your correct contact details. Please let us know if you change address or phone numbers. Another issue is the number of students arriving late to school. We keep a record of this and will contact you to discuss how we can help you get your children to school on time each day.

Harmony Day Thursday the 21st of March is Harmony Day and we are celebrating this day with a sense of our shared identity as a respectful, caring College that celebrates our diversity of culture. Given the sad circumstances that happened in Christchurch it seems really important that we take time to reflect on the importance of peace, understanding and harmony at our College and in our communities. If you are available we will be having whole school singing at 2:40pm in the courtyard at the Tarneit Campus and 12:45pm to the Derrimut Heath Campus.

Staff Car Park I continue to write about access to the Staff Car Park at both schools and in this case I am concerned about the number of children who walk through the car parks at the start and the end of the day. Someone will be hit by a car entering or leaving the Car Park, so please make sure that your children DO NOT walk through the car parks.

Traffic Fines At times we are approached by people who have received fines related to parking in the wrong places around the school. We are not able to do anything about this and the only suggestion that I have is to obey the rules associated with parking and drop off areas around a school.

Cleaning Jobs We have a new cleaning company looking after our two schools and there is an opportunity for people to be employed as cleaners. The hours are such that blocks of two, four and six hours could be available. If you are interested please contact the office at either Derrimut Heath or the Tarneit Campus and leave your details. Looking Forward, Staying Ahead, Julie Mason College Principal

LUNA by MIA DMB

At Academy high school secretly on stage Luna, an upbeat tsundere who sang many songs. She’s quite short, has black leather boots, topped with long white socks, a pink fading into blue crop top, and turquoise short skirt.

Luna has round pink sunglasses. She cannot keep her belt from dropping downwards, and has a black choker tightly around her neck.

Luna always wears long stripy fingerless gloves. She is also childish and popaton. Luna can’t help it but she sings like a high pong tail.

Breakfast Club and the Students of Baden Powell College Thanks You

Baden Powell College breakfast is on every Tuesday and Thursday morning at both campuses. Your child can enjoy cereal, muesli, baked beans, (oats in winter), toast and/or fruit salad. We sincerely thank our sponsors for their ongoing support. Without the support of the magnificent Let’s Feed, Reliance, Harmony Residential, Pronto Earthworks and Foodbank, we would not have been able to provide for the many students who enjoy breakfast at school. We sincerely thank you for your continued support from the staff and students of Baden Powell College.
