Adirondack Community Church “Life Goes On”
December 6, 2015
"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:14
Every year the holiday season seems to catch me and my family off
guard, and yet every year Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year
arrive, right on schedule. It is true, that whether you're prepared for
it or not, life goes on! Honestly, life goes on in such an unstoppable
way, that at times, when life is especially busy, I feel like a leaf thrust
to and fro by a raging river. Perhaps you find yourself feeling this way
during this Christmas season yourself.
As we continue to move forward and yet remember what's behind us
throughout this season, today we'll be focusing on moving forward in
life, but in a prepared and focused way. Join us today as we hear the
urging of the Apostle Paul, learn from our own lives and seek the wis-
dom of generations of disciples who've gone before us. Join us today
as we "press on toward the goal" that is Christ Jesus in the midst of
lives and a world that are continually moving forward.
2nd Sunday of Advent
What We Believe
...the living core of the Christian faith is revealed in scripture, illumined by tradition, vivified in personal experience, and confirmed by reason.
...the one God we worship exists fundamentally within a community of the three per-sons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
…God’s son, Jesus, came to live among us as fully divine and fully human. His life, death, and resurrection points to and fulfills the good news of the freedom from sin and death, which we proclaim.
...we share one mission with Christians throughout time, to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
...it is into community (koinonia) that we have been called to coexist and through this community that we are able to truly manifest the body of Christ.
…wherever you are on your journey, we are here for one another!
“In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.”

Children’s Christmas Program This year at ACC we'll be keeping regular Arise (Sunday School) lessons on Sunday, but will also be having a Christmas Pageant on Sunday, December 20th! If your child is interested in participating in the Christmas Pageant simply let Pastor John ([email protected]) or Crystal Martin ([email protected]) know so they can be sure to have parts pre-pared for everyone. In preparation for the Christmas Pageant we'll be having two practices this year on Tuesday, December 15th from 5pm-6pm and then again on Saturday, December 19th from 2pm-4 pm.
We welcome your praise and prayer requests each week. All requests are confidential and only shared with our prayer team.
Thank your for letting us pray for your needs!
