Federal Electric was founded in1990 in Adapazari. Within a shorttime it has made progress and tookits place among the leading LowVo l t a g e C i rc u i t B re a k e rmanufacturers in the world. It wasfounded with hundred percentnational capital in a total area of40,000 sqm, out of which 25,000sqm is covered area. Thecompany's product range includes3250 products. Federal Electriccurrently manufactures 95% of theLV circuit breaker products range,and continues its R&D activitiesrelated to the remaining 5%.

As a consequence of its closefo l l ow-up o f the recen tdevelopments in any area frominstitutionalization to technologicalinnovations, it has received its prizeby becoming No. 1 and 2 in themarket. Federal Electric is the onlyTurkish company which has a sharein the low voltage products marketand was listed in No. 1 and 2 in themarket.

Mechanical R&D, Electronic R&Dand Eelctrical R&D works are carriedout in three departments, incoordination with each other.

At R&D department, using SiliconGraphics and Uni Graphics whichare among the most sophisticatedcomputer systems and CAD-CAMsoftware in the world, high qualitygoods are designed and preparedfor manufacture by the engineersand designers, who are specialisedand experienced in their field, in away to respond to today's andtomorrow's needs with thetechnology of future.

All parts of the products designedand finally formed at the R&Ddepartment are produced asprototypes by Federal Electric.

Mechanical design of theproducts are prepared in computerenvironment, their contact pressure,3D mechanism design andtolerance simulations are made andchecked, and then prototypes ofthese products are prepared andvisual checks are made, followingthat the designs are transferredthrough the network to Charmillsewire erosion and CNC bencheslocated at the die shop and theirmoulds are prepared.

After casting moulds, firstproducts are manufactured.Samples produced from these partsundergo mechanical (pulling, break,hardness, friction, etc.) and electrical(short circuit, thermal and magneticopening, etc.) tests. Products withsuccessful test results are ready formass production.

The products manufactured incompliance with internationalstandards are tested at thelaboratories equipped with thestate-of-the-art test systems,including short circuit tests, usingmodern test devices.

Our product line include compacttype circuit breakers from 16A to2500A, open type switches from630A to 5000A, cam switches, loadbreak switches and switch fuses,vertical load disconnectors, NHfuse bases, automatic fuses, faultcurrent protection switches,contactors, compensat ioncontactors, high current contactors,semiconductor contactors,installation contactors, thermalrelays, capacitors, motor protectionswitches, meters, various meterand command relays and reactivepower control relays, currenttransformers, power analyzers, overcurrent relays, distribution panels,busbar systems, multitariff electronicenergy meters, combined meters,gas and water meters. Moreover,Electrical Automatic HeatingSystems are manufactured forTurkish Railway Car industry.

Federal Electric carried its systematicdevelopment to international standards in 1994and is listed among the first 70 institutions whichhold ISO 9000 certificates. Our company wasawarded with the Quality Prize at the 1stInternational Technology-Qual ity andManufacturing Systems Congress on accountof being a company that implements TS-EN-9000 quality assurance system perfectly.

Federal Group follows up the worldwidedevelopments continuously and makes majorinvestment in R&D; and as a consequence,it holds Industrial Design and Patentregistrations in Turkey and worldwide forapproximately 100 products.

All processes from the starting pointto the end of the production (from rawmaterials and product stocks tofinished product stocks) arechecked by the ERP software andbarcode system. ERP softwareinstalled in 1995, as a first inTurkey, ensures ISO 9001standard compliant traceability,thus reduces recording andcouinting errors in warehousesbelow 0.5. Besides, in order toavoid needless waste of paper,all communication is made viaelectronic media.

Employment process is basedon the principle of "person appropriatefor the task", and since 1995 it is performedaccording to the results of psycho-technicaltests. With 6-month intervals, 360 degreeproficiency based performance evaluation isapplied to all personnel. And as a consequenceof this test, skills of the personnel are determined,and required training programs for ceaselessimprovement are prepared.

Federal Marketing carries outthe domestic sales and marketingactivities for the products of FederalE l e c t r i c . B a s e d o n t h egeographical and economicstructure of Turkey, FederalMarketing performs its operationsthrough four branch offices, andhas approximately 100 dealersthroughout Turkey.

In line with the transformationexperienced in commerce in ourcountry within the last few years,Federal Marketing Co. wasreorganised, and is now ready tokeep up with the market conditionsand developments.

Based on the information flowsystem between marketing andproduction, required informationand specifications can be obtainedfrom production; and in thefollowing step, such informationcan be provided to customers.Federal Marketing providesinformation on the marketconditions and the productsdemanded in the markets to theexpert personnel in FederalElectric. It helps concurrentadaptation to market conditions,and furthermore, it has positiveresults in the quality of products.

FEDERAL LIGHTENING Electronic Ind. & Trd. Co.

Federal Lightening was foundedin 2007 in Istanbul Tuzla. TheCompany carries out its activitiesin an area of 15,000 sqm.

The Company focuses onproduction of essential lighteningcomponents required by thei l l um ina t i on sec to r, andmanufactures electronic ballast,energy saving bulb and lighteningluminaire. Electronic ballastsproduced by Federal Lighteningprovide energy saving up to 35%and increase bulb life by 50%. TheCompany has started its productionactivities with all infrastructure andproduction facilities required to meetall demands of the customers.

The first EEI=2 class, TSE andGOST-R certified ballasts in Turkeywith CE declaration have beenprovided to customers. Moreover,VDE certification works have beencommenced, and continue withutmost speed at the moment. Withthe new investments to be madefor the machinery park, which hasan established production capacityof 1,000,000 electronic ballast /month, high technology newproducts will be produced for ourcustomers.

FEDERAL ELECTRIC EGYPT

The Company was founded with100% Federal Group capital in2003 at 10th of Ramadan CityOrganised Industrial Region, 50km to Capital Cairo, and operatesin a covered area of 6000 sqm.

Manufactured products areexported to Egyptian market,COMESA countries and to otherAfrican countries.

Turkish companies are welcomein Egypt due to the historicalcloseness between the Egyptiansand Turks. Federal is a favouredbrand in Egypt. In Governmentcontracts, especially in highampere switches, Federal brandis favoured and used.

Federal, considering that theEgyptian people cannot easilychange their habits, has developeddifferent marketing strategies inEgypt and applied them withsuccess.

The team at London head officecarries out marketing activitiesthroughout Britania.

Based on the confidenceobtained from the operations, it isplanned to establish a productionfacility in Birmingham region.

Modernization and capacityincreasing investments of thecompany will continue in line withthe continuously increasingdemands of the market andcustomers.

The Company was founded in2007 with the name "Uzfederalgaz",and 51% of the company is ownedby Federal Group and the remaining49% by Uzbekistan Gas Company.

The Company will completelyrenew the natural gas infrastructureof Uzbekistan, a country with apopulation of 27 million.

Uzbekistan Government hasselected Federal Group in thisproject, which is expected to solvequality petrol shortage and airpollution resulting from use of lowquality petrol, to present a moreeconomic motor fuel alternative toUzbek people, to reduce fuelimportation load and use nationalresources to become independentalso in the energy supply, to createnew technologies and work areasin Uzbekistan economy, and toc rea te new emp loymen topportunities for the Uzbek people.Federal Group will construct 1,000LPG Vehicle Filling Stations andapproximately 10 LPG StorageFacilities.

Alternative Motor Fuel LPG atAutogas Quality (EN-589) to besupplied from LPG ProducerFacilities and Rafineries will beprovided for the use of Uzbekpeople throughout.

Gas meters in the project will bepre-paid type with earthquakesensor. Pressure reducing stationsand some major consumers canbe read, controlled and managedremotely with Scada and GPRSsystem. In this system, the latesttechnological innovations of thesector wil l be employed inUzbekistan.

A pipe plant will be constructedin Uzbekistan to manufacture thenatural gas pipes required forrenewal of the network.

Considering the fact that this isa long term project, the plans arealso made for the long term toensure the leadership and centrepoint of the sector in this region.While the infrastructure isconstructed, the infrastructure forCable TV and Internet network willalso be prepared. The work will bemanaged by Federal Group, andUzbekistan Ministry will carry outcontrolling activities.

Federal Marble was founded in1998 to utilize the marble potentialof our country and to continue theAnatolian tradition, and it has grownrapidly and became a majorcompany in marble and travertinesector due to the 21st centurytechnology used. The Companycarries out production in a total areaof 60,000 sqm, with 10,000 sqmcovered area. It has 2 plants andquarries located in Bilecik'sBeycekoy and Vezirhan districts withtotal 300 employees. Moreover, itoperates marble quarries withdifferent characteristics in Kü'fctahya,Kilis and Sanliurfa. Marbles fromthese quarries are processed in ourplant in Bilecik in any dimensionsrequested, and provided to themarket in all Asian, Middle Eastern,European and Far Eastern countriesand to the American market throughFederal Marble USA.

Federal Marble's policy is basedon customer satisfaction, andcombining this policy with the state-of-the-art technology, Federal Marblehas become one of the leadingcompanies in the marble sector.
