THE PREZ SEZ BY MARK SCHIEFF
For those of you running a "B" carburetor.
remember the liLle spring that fell out when
you removed the float to replace the float
valve. And now you can't figure out how to
put it back. Well, it's not needed unless you
are using a fuel pump.
Also some of us are having some fuel leaks that just seem
to be unrepairable. Try lapping in the shutoff valve and an
original type shut off valve with tooth paste. Also you can
add an addi+onal 1/4 turn shut off valve under the dash.
BraLons sells one already made up with the proper bends
and fiOngs, installs in minutes. If you are experiencing a
slight fuel seepage check out the fiOng of the jets to the
machined brass threaded fiOngs. Some of the repo jets
are just press fiLed and can work loose.
SPARK PLUGS - A 10 SECOND TUTORUAL
Assuming everything else is adjusted correctly, not run-
ning too rich or too lean.
If they are white the plug is too hot.
If they are black the plug is too cold.
If they are a shade of tan they are just right.

SUNSHINE BY CHARLOTTE KESSLER
Jerry Aus+n had triple by-
pass surgery. He is in ICU,
so cannot have visitors at
this +me. Wishing him a
speedy recovery.
I spoke with Lorraine Hanna. She is s+ll
having a lot of pain. Thinking of you Lor-
raine.
Dan Prehm had surgery for hernia repair
and is doing well. Happy to hear that
Dan.
Bob Chesto is having some difficulty
since cataract surgery. Wishes for
improvement soon.
Jerry Vozzola lost his father this
month. So sorry Jerry. Services were
held November 1.
Doreen Andrini had her gall bladder
removed recently. She is doing
great.
As this holiday season approaches
I want to wish everyone the very
best Thanksgiving and Christ-
mas! I personally would like to
say I'm very thankful for all of you.

I am skipping the nor-
mal secretary report. I
say this with a lot of
sadness. This is my last
+me I do this report. As
everyone knows, Cheri
and I are moving. What a great +me
I had being secretary. It was a rough
start, then it became fun. Cheri and I
enjoyed everyone’s friendship and
how everyone opened their homes and
hearts and made us feel like family. We
both went on great trips and enjoyed
the social +mes we had. It was lots of
fun. Cheri and I aren’t saying goodbye,
but as someone we all grew up with
never said goodbye…”happy trails to
you ‘+l we meet again”! God bless you
all.
PS: There were 32 members, 2 cars,
no visitors. We announced birthdays,
held officer nomina+ons, and Carol
Miller won the Dark Horse. The
mee+ng ended early. God bless
America.

With no one canceling due to the weather-
man's threat of wind our happy & brave
group took off from the Santa Fe Hotel on
our way to BeaLy at 9:30 AM sharp in two
groups. Members joining the group for the
weekend were; Dan & Liz Prehm, Bob &
Doreen Andrini, Jack Hunter, Bill & Kathy Williams, Jack
Camburn, myself, Jim Robbins, Duke & Marge Tendvahl,
Hal White, Jerry Vozzola, Nancy Holland & son Sam, Don
& Joann Menke, Mike & Karen Schmidt, Mark & Cathy
Schieff, Dave & Chris Ringenbach and Dan's brother &
wife.
A quick stop at Lathrop Wells and on into BeaLy for the
aFernoon. The whole group met for dinner at the fa-
mous Sourdough Bar for an evening of Pizza, Beer/Wine
and several intense games of pool.
The next morning, the parade lineup produced 13 cars
from our Las Vegas club. The cars were decorated in
Halloween décor and created quite a scene going down
the highway. Bob added to the excitement in his Mob-
ster ou[it carrying a machine gun playing to the audi-
ence. Our club was rewarded for our effort by being
BEATTY DAYS BY DEL HERRING
given 1st place in the Parade Best of Show and a 2nd
Place Ribbon.
The aFernoon was spent at the park/car show, trying
out local BBQ’s, sampling the chili, giving away Hallow-
een treats to the youngsters and just relaxing around
the cars. 4 PM found us wai+ng anxiously for the car
award announcements. And the winners were:
Category B 1928-1940 Original
1st Place - Mark & Cathy Schieff
2nd Place - Bob & Doreen Andrini
Category - Original Trucks 1st Place - Jerry
Vozzola driving Jim & Vicki Hildreth's 1930

pa+o for sub sandwiches and side dishes brought along
from home. The evening was a success.
Sunday morning the first group leF for home at 7:30 AM
followed shortly aFer by the second.
Two stops on the way home, and all was good!
