ANZAC CENTENARY Tribute
2015 - 2018
In the midst of carnage at Fromelles, a badly wounded Digger, huddled in a shell
hole, called out for assistance, “Don’t forget me, Cobber” This statement is from
The Hon Bruce Scotts ANZAC DAY Centenary guide.
100 years on ANZAC Vietnam veterans will not forget their cobbers as they carry
the Australian Slouch Hat and the New Zealand Lemon Squeezer Hat that once sat
on the heads of dedicated soldiers who came from Maori marae, Indigenous
communities, Migrant communities, cities, outback towns, farms and cattle stations
of Australia and New Zealand. The hats are to be carried around Australia by
ANZAC veterans, family members and children as their tribute in memory of men
and women who paid the supreme sacrifice from the beginning of ANZAC to the
present time.
At the onset of World War One thousands of men and women had rallied to catch
trains and boats then set off from Albany Western Australia 1st November 1914 to
develop the ANZAC history what we have today. Many never to return.
Clarence Ormsby will offer a spiritual ANZAC Centenary presentation to be
followed by a Country Music community tribute to acknowledge Country music
artists who have supported ANZAC soldiers in war titled; ANZACS IN CONCERT.
