Anti-Chevron Day 2017! We have the pleasure to invite you to the Anti-Chevron Day 2017, that will take place on the 31 st May at ISS, between 17 and 18:30 in The Hague Adres: Kortenaerkade 12, 2518 AX Den Haag https://www.iss.nl/ The topic of this year will be the access to social environmental justice and denied justice for various communities The Chevron Ecuador case represented by the the Unión de Afectados y Afectadas por las Operaciones Petroleras de Texaco, UDAPT, is an outstanding example of denied access to justice: 23 years since it was first raised and 6 years after the positive verdict, justice has not been granted yet. The case is not the only example of justice denied. There are countless cases of corporate impunity where a legal verdict is not enough to grant justice. UDAPT would like to invite you all to jointly reflect with other activists and campaigns and seek common solutions on how to make access to justice a reality and not an abstract idea. We want to discuss all dimensions of justice: the moral and ethical aspects, the well-being of those affected by extractive practices, and the duty to respect the human right to live in a healthy environment, and to restore the inflicted damages.
