EXPERIENCE
Freelance Senior Designer / Various
August 2013 – Present
II’ve worked at a number of agencies on short and long term contracts (see
below) including Fjord, SapientNitro, Wunderman, EY Seren, LIDA, Exposure
and Proximity. During this time I’ve work on varied projects including pitches,
multi-platform apps, web tools, social media campaigns, newsletters, banners,
style guides, infographics, packaging, etc.
Freelance Senior Designer / Fjord
May 2016 – May 2017 (1 year)
FFjord contracted me to work alongside their parent company Accenture and
the client Kingfisher in a digital hub created specifically for the project. The
team was tasked with designing a mobile app to help customers find the right
products for their garden projects and allow them to identify plants using
image recognition technology.
I worked in the design team, primarily as a visual designer but with significant
input into the design of the user experience. Working in an agile framework,
wwe were producing feature updates every two weeks. The app evolved through
several test and learn phases where we created specific user journeys to gain
feedback and inform the direction of the product. This resulted in the launch
of B&Q Gardens, which is available to download on Android and iOS devices.
Summary of duties:
• Visual and UX design using Sketch and Zeplin
• Building animated prototypes using After Effects and InVision
• • Creating a library of reusable assets within Sketch
• Presenting work to the client and colleagues
• Understanding and implementing user testing feedback

Freelance Senior Designer / SapientNitro
January 2015 – December 2015 (1 year)
I was initially hired for one month to work on an iPad app for Barclays Bank.
This involved a lot of conceptual work from initial sketches through to layout
and interaction in order to create the best user experience.
AAfter this I worked within the RBS frontline team for 11 months, working closely
with UX and other visual designers to create and test various online banking
tools, which would work across multiple devices. Using Sketch and Zeplin as
our primary design software, we were able to increase the synergy between
visual and UX design – as well as the end developers – leaving us more time to
create high fidelity prototypes using After Effects and InVision.
Summary of duties:
• • Design of tools and web applications
• Building animated prototypes using After Effects and InVision
• Creating a library of reusable assets within Sketch
• iPad app design
• Working closely alongside UX from the initial brief
• Regular client presentations
• Creative conceptualising
• • Giving software presentations and tutorials

EXPERIENCE
Senior Designer / Crayon & Karmarama
July 2011 – August 2013 (2 year 3 months)
I jI joined Crayon as senior designer, but was initially given a hybrid role of senior
designer/art director, working on clients such as Sony, Honda and British Gas,
as well as pitching for new clients. I provided backup to the creative director on
some of the major accounts, including British Telecom. After a few months I
was asked to take over duties from the creative director on BT. This new role of
lead designer on BT included regular weekly meetings with the client where I
would present work on behalf of the creative department. Having final sign off
on on all creative work, I oversaw and directed senior and mid-weight designers
who were working specifically on this account.
When Crayon merged with Karmarama in the summer of 2012, I continued as
lead designer on BT as well as working on other accounts like Tullamore D.E.W.
and Karmarama’s brand website, as well as pitching for new clients. I also
worked on other areas of BT including Global Services, which involved the
design of their global website. I had a great working relationship with the client
and they were pleased with the standard of work I produced. Consequently, I
was often asked to fulfil new briefs or pitch for new work within the BT group.
AAfter leaving my full-time position, I was asked to return as a freelancer for a
seven month contract before moving on.
Summary of duties:
• Web/banner/email/app/social media design
• Art direction
• Working closely alongside UX from the initial brief
• Directing creative work across BT
• • Weekly client presentations
• Pitch presentations
• Creative conceptualising
• Designing style guides
• Interviewing new candidates

SKILLS
Web and interaction design
With over 10 years industry experience, I have a great understanding of what is
required for web and interaction design. By keeping up with the latest
innovations in technology I can ensure that the tools and knowledge I apply
are right for a particular project. I’m also competent in print and branding.
FFront-end development
I have a good knowledge of HTML5, Javascript, CSS, web fonts and content
management systems. Not only is this useful when building sites myself, but I
believe it is essential to have this understanding when designing for the web.
UX design
Most Most of my previous roles have involved working closely with UX designers and
consequently I’ve developed an understanding of what is required for great
user experience. By working alongside UX from the outset, I can quickly gain an
understanding of the product or service and feedback my own ideas on layout,
design and interaction.
Presentation of work
During my caDuring my career I’ve been in a number of client facing roles where I presented
work with confidence, enthusiasm and passion. This included weekly client
presentations as well as internal design presentations across ongoing accounts.
