WORLD PUMPS October 2011 Product news 7 www.worldpumps.com Natural gas compressor line for wellheads Blackmer has developed a natural gas vapour recovery compressor that has been designed to handle wellhead operations in continuous duty or remote unmanned locations. The NG Series comprises a single-stage, oil-free recipro- cating gas compressor that can be used in oil and gas produc- tion in the areas of tank-battery vapour recovery, wellhead vapour control, wellhead annulus reduction and pressure boosting. Blackmer's compressers feature a full compartment distance piece as standard on all NG models. Each NG compressor is constructed with two sets of piston rod seals between the crosshead guide and cylinder area, which form the distance piece. The distance piece provides leakage control and helps prevent oil contamination from any condensates that might be in the gas stream. Connections are provided in the distance-piece for purging, pressurizing or venting as needed. This design also allows the NG compressors to handle a much wider range of suction pressures, which can be a major consideration in wellhead operations that involve natural gas and methane mixes. The NG Series compressors also feature a ductile-iron head and cylinder, o-ring gaskets throughout, flow rates to 600 MSCFD, a maximum of 50-horse- power energy usage and a maximum allowable working pressure of 350 psia (24.1 bar). www.blackmer.com ANSI, end- suction low flow range Ruhrpumpen has added a new ANSI, end-suction low flow centrifugal pump to its standard product line. The CPP-L is the low flow version of the CPP-21 and has been designed to fill the gap on the low flow side of the CPP-21 range. The new pump complies with the ANSI B73.1 standard and this pump can be used to replace existing equipment without any problem. There will be no need for piping or base changes. With low flow applications it is important to reduce the thrust load and seal chamber pressure, and Ruhrpumpen’s radial vane impellers for the CPP-L are specially designed to provide a better hydraulic control. With its balance holes it reduces the thrust load prolonging bearing and seal’s life. www.ruhrpumpen.com Ruhrpumpen’s low flow centrifugal pump.
