Biography ● Ansel Adams was a Landscape environmental photographer ● Born in San Francisco, California in 1902 died 1984● 1960 Ansel started experimenting with photography ● Learned darkroom techniques● He joined the Sierra Club in 1928 ● Sierra club is a environmental organization in the u.s● He learned a lot from joining and took plenty of

Style of Photography ● He took Landscape environmental photographs ● He loved nature and wanted to show the beautiful parts
of it ● His first photographs were at age 14 at a family trip to
Yosemite National Park ● There he got an interest in recording nature and
conservation in wilderness camps
Where his work Appears ● The Exhibition of Oakland Museum of California has
approximately 80 Photographs of his also including other photographers from the Sierra club so people can compare and contrast their work
● Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York● And many more exhibitions throughout the world
FActs :● He played the Piano ● He gave up the piano for the camera in 1928● He broke his nose during the 1906 San Francisco
earthquake. His nose stayed crocked throughout his life ● He was transferred out of a handful of schools before his
parents decided to homeschool ● His first camera was a Kodak No. 1 Box Brownie and his
subject was nature

sky and mountains thats what makes the photograph so striking
● The photograph is showing the beauty of nature● I loved how the rocky mountains blended in wit the sky

● This is taken in natural lighting ● The main subject is the tree you can tell because the
trunk of the tree is highlighted as it appears to be dark ● Thick lines created from the tree and branches make the
photograph striking ● The photograph is trying to communicate how the tree’s
appears mainly the first one ● I loved the different shades in this photograph for
example the trunk is darker than the branches

● This is taken in natural lighting ● The main subject would be the snow on the branches. I can
tell because that the only thing in the photo ● The simplicity and texture is what makes this photograph
striking. ● The Photographer is trying to communicate the snow on the
branches ● I chose this photo because i loved how the snow fell on
the branches of the tree

● This was taken in natural light ● The main subject would be the moon. I can tell because
that is the only thing that appears in the sky ● The lighting is what makes this photograph striking. It
is darker at the sky and brighter at the bottom. There are different shades
● The photographer is trying to show how the moon appears in the sky
● I Loved how the main focus was the moon and how it looked

● This was taken in natural lighting ● The main subject would be the mist craeted by the
waterfall. That is what captures the eye first ● The simplicity and texture makes the photo striking.the
fog and mist are the main focus● The photographer is trying to show the effect of the
waterfall ● I loved how the mist appeared and blended in with the
background
