ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2019-20 OF BOUDH IRRIGATION DIVISION, BOUDH.

1. INTRODUCTION:

Boudh Irrigation Division, Boudh created in year 1963. It is one of the such division

which plays an important role in irrigation and flood fighting work of river Mahanadi, Tel,

Salki in Boudh District and part of the Phulbani District. It is under the Administrative control

of Superintending Engineer, Bolangir irrigation circle, Bolangair and Chief Engineer and Basin

manager, Tel Basin, Bhawanipatana. It ensures irrigation to a vast patch through its three

(3) Nos of project such as Pillasalki Irrigation Project in Phulbani, Bagh Barrage Project,

Sagada and Salki Irrigation Project in Boudh district. It Provides 33824 Ha. of irrigation in

khariff and 2240 Ha. of irrigation in Rabi season in draught prone area of Boudh / Phulbani

Dist. All the flood fighting works are being executed and supervised under the Chief Engineer

and Basin Manager, lower Mahanadi Basin, Bhubaneswar.

3. IRRIGATION TO TAIL END OF THE AYACUT:

The main moto of the Division and field functionary is to provide irrigation to the Tail end of the ayacut in khariff season, project wise ayacut and distribution system is given below.

4. FLOOD PROTECTION WORK:

This division has taken up different types of flood protection works under the assistance of the

state Govt. and NABARD in Plan and Non-plan allotment. The component of these works are mostly

lunching with stones in scourced bank followed with rough stone dry packing to protect the natural

bank from further erosion, we are working in a mission mood so that the local people feel secure

during flood time because the flood water will not enter into the village area. The work taken up under

cirtical grant (Major/Medium) for the three (3) nos of projects along with the River Embankment

works for the financial Year 2019-20 is given below.
