We work to get the FULL INCLUSION OF THE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES in all fields of society through the DEFENSE AND PROMOTION OF THEIR RIGHTS, the claim for SOCIAL CHANGE, the empowerment and coordination of the ASSOCIATIONISM and the provision of SERVICES meeting their NEEDS AND EXPECTATIONS.
A CONSOLIDATED associative movement and widely RECOGNIZED by society in general, their values and leadership in SEARCHING FOR NEW METHODOLOGIES of working with people with disabilities and in providing EXCELLENCE SERVICES addressed to themselves.

In year 2011 a total of 3.145 people with disabilities have participated in rural areas

Service of Labour Integration (SIL)
Definition Recruitment agency established in 1996 and recognized as COLLABORATING CENTRE of the Public Employment Service which counts with an employment agency with nearly 24.500 disabled job seekers

Integrated Programme
Aimed at promoting the access to labour market to people with disabilities and with special difficulties in labour integration in Galicia, especially women and people living in rural areas. With a duration of 12 months, this programme, has been funded by the Training and Placement General Directorate of the Galicia’s Government, and co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Vodafone Foundation.

Self - employment
The Self-Employment Service of COGAMI –(SIL Emprende) – comes supporting since year 2002, the creation of feasible enterprises driven by people with disabilities. The actions performed, include query resolutions, personalized advice to business projects and dissemination and training activities.

Programmes
The following programmes are part of the Leisure’s Area:
Holiday Programme European Exchanges GAVEA Project Other leisure activities

Holiday Programme Funded by the General Directorate of Dependency and Personal Autonomy of Labour and Welfare Department of the Galicia’s Government, 2 shifts were developed for users between 25 and 60 years old.
Participation of 24 users, 4 volunteers, 2 support persons and 1 coordinator
European Exchanges The European Exchanges are framed in the Non Formal Education and European Mobility “ Youth in Action” Programme, addressed to boys and girls between 13 and 30 years old.
We were awarded the project “THEY CAN ON EQUAL
TERMS: TOWARDS THE EMPOWERMENT OF
YOUNG WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES”, which has been materialized in year 2011 (16 participants from Greece, Ireland, Portugal
and Galicia)

Gavea Project
Participation of more than 2.600 people with disabilities since 2002
Born in the year 2002 to promote the participation of the people with disabilities in nautical sports activities, by means of accomplish Sea Baptisms and the establishment of a Dinghy Sailing School.

In year 1994, we started working in the development of European Projects, reaching an approximately total of 60 projects developed.
It should be noted that many of the services we provide have been designed parting from European projects.
Quality
We continue on working for achieving the 400+ EFQM EXCELLENCE SEAL
in year 2012
Innovation and improvement must have as base a quality management system which provide us with information on achievement of strategic and operational objectives of the organization and, therefore, on the degree of achieving COGAMI’s mission.
We point out:
Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2008 of the SIL and the Training Service. During year 2011 is been renewed the certification ISO 9001:2008 on both services.
EFQM. We get the RECOGNISED FOR EXCELLENCE 300+EFQM . Elaboration of the COGAMI’s BALANCED SCORECARD based on the EFQM
model.

We started in mid 2010 to manage 6 Galician Consortium of Equalities and Wellness Day Centres for the Elderly of public ownership.
The teams of work are made up of technical staff (Technical Management, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists) and geriatric practitioners and direct care staff.

Gives response to the people with reduced mobility that can not use public transportation, and, as consequence of it, they present difficulties for their integration in this area. Availability of: - 6 adapted microbuses of 19 seats - 17 adapted vans of 9 seats Provide service to: - Centres of Resources for People with Disabilities managed by COGAMI or by member entities. - Day Centres for elderly people in Vigo and Lugo, although this service covers all over Galicia.
