The event started at 9.00 am with introduction to the guest by Tr. Sreelata. It was followed by ag hosting. The band students performed the school song. The Marshal torch was nally carried by the sports Minister. The Head girl, Miss Anushka presented the oath. The school Principal Sr. Sushmita declared the sports meet open. Our school’s PT teachers were the driving force behind the success of this Annual Event. 30m running, 50m running, 60m running, 80m running, book balancing, potato balancing, potato race, frog jump, hurdles race, shuttle running, front rolling, weight running, relay etc were conducted under the guidance and direction of our P.T. teachers. The winners in the sports events were given away with certicates and medals by our Principal. At the end of the programme the Principal gave a beautiful speech. Tr. Karishma gave the vote of thanks. With this the Sports meet was ended successfully.

Loving your nation is the most important thing andRepublic Day would be the best to show our love andrespect towards our country.Carmel Convent High School in a very special waydisplayed their love for their country.The Programme began with the �ag hosting by ourGuest of honor Mr. Robert Daniel, ex- sports teacher ofSt. Joseph’s School. This was followed by the NationalAnthem sung by one and all. There was a March Pastcompetition between the houses of the school.The March Past was followed by Prayer for the entirecountry, our leaders, people and progress andbetterment of our country, after which patriotic songsand dances were displayed by students from thedi�erent classes.Finally, the programme ended with the prizedistribution, felicitating all our students who broughtlaurels to our schools in various sports.

Thanks giving day was celebrated on 27 January 2016 forThe Students of standard X.The programme began with a prayer service conductedby the teachers.The theme for the programme was ‘Tree’.Representatives from various sections compared thegrowth of children to various phases of a Tree.Teachers from language section and P.T. master gavetheir best wishes to the children.Children of class X shared their fond memories in theschool.The Principal Sr. Sushmita bestowed her best wishes toeach and every student.The Manager Sr. Dorita blesses The Children with abeautiful prayer.The programme ended with the hymn showers ofblessings sung by the teachers.

Farewell of Standard X 2015-16January 30, 2016Categories: News

As it is told ‘Parting is sweet sorrow, to bid good bye toour SSC students was hard’. But the students of grade IXmade it happy and remarkable one for the SSC students.The programme began at 11.00 am. The students ofStandard X were welcomed by their juniors, manager SrDorita, Principal Sr. Sushmita and all the sta� werealready present in the hall to welcome them. The youngboys and girls looked very handsome and pretty in theirdi�erent style.A short programme and few games were arranged forthem by the students of grade IX. Principal Sr. Sushmitaconveyed the message and wished them all the best fora brighter future. After the delicious lunch the SSCstudents bid good bye to the school.

Superior General VisitMarch 30, 2016Categories: News

Our Superior General Sr. Shusheela A.C visited ourschool along with Burser General Sr. Pavitha A.C on 08-March-2016.They were warmly welcomed at theentrance of the school by our school band teachers withgreat enthusiasm. The faculty, Sta� and Students werehonored and very pleased to have them as our guest.Our students entertained them with a short programmeafter Sr. Shusheela A.C (Our Superior) addressed theentire school. She was overwhelmed by the performanceof the students. She narrated a beautiful message tostudents for their Excellency in Academics and moldingtheir personality to shape their character. Theprogramme ended with a vote of thanks by Tr. Anvita. Allthe students were �lled with gratitude and happiness intheir hearts.Sister, then meet the teaching sta� and non-teachingsta� of Carmel Convent School. SUMMER CAMPApril 29, 2016Categories: News

Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli organized aspecial ‘Summer Camp’ for the students of Class Sr. KGto Class VIII, from 11th APRIL 2016 to April 30th 2016.Our school planned a host of activities to keep childrenengaged during the summer vacations to improve theirphysical �tness. Children provided with opportunities toparticipate in a variety of sports and other physicalactivities in safe, fun and non-competitive environment.All activities were planned and supervised by PTteachers. Programme went in all days, Monday toSunday, from 7.00 am to 9.00 am. Sports facilitiesincluded a large sports ground for Basketball, Football,Table Tennis, Cricket, Skating, Sports games and drillexercise. On the last day of the camp, Participationcerti�cates were given to the students. Finally, Childrenenjoyed their D.J dance and sweets.

Our illuminary for the day was Sr. PearlAnn, Principal of Carmel Convent High School, Bandra.Love , Love is known to all, seen felt in di�erent ways,but our Speaker brought forth the importance of love ina unique way. Her session began with a complementingactivity for the teachers, going on to elaborating on the 5Love Languages. This perspective was an unexplored�eld altogether.Her words encouraged our teachers in ways that haveno bound Language. Reopening DayJune 15, 2016Categories: News

The Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli reopenedfor the new academic session 2016-2017 on 15th June,2016. The atmosphere of excitement and fervor amongstudents clearly indicated that the students were happyto join back school after a long summer vacation.A special assembly was conducted by teachersthemselves to welcome students. The Principal, Sr.Sushmita A.C through a speech motivated the studentsto strive hard with a goal in heart and understand theimportance of time to excel in academics. A newaddition to the school, Sr. Hilda was welcomed andfelicitated by the management. New teachers wereintroduced and felicitated during the assembly.After the assembly, the students were excited to knowabout the new class and their class teachers instructedthem about rules and discipline to be followed as aCarmelite.The students dispersed for home at 10 am spending ahalf day at school but with hearts full of desires and zealto return to school the next day morning.

AN ADIEUJune 16, 2016Categories: News

A New beginning, a new session in all the excitementand work, we had to bid an adieu to one of our dearSister, Sr. Jacintha A.C, as she had been transferred toanother Convent of ours at Nagpur. Indeed it was sad,but we had to let her go, as part of her work.In honour of her service at our Institution, we held afarewell programme, which like all others began withprayer service, intercessory prayers for her, her family,her future. One of our teachers read a few beautifullines of poetry dedicated to her. Our senior teacher, Tr.Treza Tony in her well-spoken speech took us through allof Sr. Services devoted to our School. Later, Our Principalfelicitated our beloved Sr. and also enlightened us a littlemore on Sr. Jasintha.Our dear Sr.Jasintha A.C was overwhelmed seeing ourlove and gratitude towards her with a very short speech;she thanked and blessed each one.

Carmel convent High School, Kalamboli celebratedInternational Yoga Day on 21st June 2016 with immenseenthusiasm. On this day our PT teachers educated andmotivated students about the importance of Yoga.Theyexplained them how Yoga help us in maintaining notonly physical and mental health but also a healthy sociallife.Students were demonstrated simple and easy butbene�cialyogaasanas and pranayams. It was a greatpleasure to see the students in yoga actions. They tookkeen interest in exhibiting various yoga asanas likeUstrasana, Bhujangasana, Sasankasana,Tada asana,Ardhachakra asana etc.

Yoga asanas were showing their willingness and skills.The event ended with the message of Yoga for harmonyand peace.

Our school conducted orientation program on 22nd June2016 for the parents of students studying in class III. Webegan the program with the prayer followed by a prayersong. The important rules and regulations to be followedby the students and their parents were explained by Tr.Sajitha and Tr. Karishma.The teacher emphasized on the strict abeyance of theserules and regulations for the overall development of thestudents and smooth conduct of the school activities.Resource person Dr. Sunil Rajput delivered on inspiringlecture to the parents on the need for bringing upchildren in the right direction. He explained how to bringout the hidden talents in the weak students throughpositive motivation and proper guidance.Tr. Ilamati gave votes of thank to all those who werepresent and the program came to an end with thesinging of the National Anthem.

The Orientation program for the parents for students ofclass IV was conducted in the school on 22nd of June.The main purpose of the orientation was how we asTeachers and they as parents could co-operate to drawout the full potential of our students.

The program began with a prayer followed by a prayersong. Sr. Laveena welcomed the parents, and then forthTr. Sangita read out the rules and regulations pertainingto students and parents. Then Tr. Sangita introduced theResource person Dr. Sunil Rajput, who interacted withthe parents and delivered an interesting Lecture on howto guide the students in the right direction for theiroverall development to become citizens.

Sr. Laveena gave vote of thanks and the program endedwith the singing of the National Anthem.

The Orientation started at 8:30 am on 23rd June 2016with the prayer and welcoming the guest of honour ‘MrSunil Rajput’ by Tr. Mamta, prior to his lecture SisterSushmita A.C (Principal) gave instructions to the parentsregarding the compulsonate attendance of theprogramme.Mr. Sunil Rajput (Hypnotherapist) by profession sharedvaluable information with the parents regarding thehuman psychology child’s brain work. He discussed withthe parents regarding the upliftment of a child, how tospend time with the child with the proper do’s and don’tsinstruction. “Practice” and “Practice” is his usual mantra,he said unless and until you start learning for yourselves,then only children will get a curiosity to learn forthemselves. There are various di�erent ways in which achild can be handled, be it notorious or very muchdisciplined. Parents concern towards their children isvery important. How parents inculcate the faith ofteachers within children is very important.

Lastly, he assured parents a Carmel Convent HighSchool, Kalamboli has given an opportunity to start upthe centre in the school for free consultation, Parentscan take prior appointment and can be liable for thebene�ts of the children.

The Orientation ended up with vote of thanks by Tr.Rekha followed by our National Anthem.

The orientation programme for parents of class VI wasconducted on 23rd June 2016. It began with a welcomespeech for the parents followed by prayer along with aprayer song.

Important instruction about the rules and regulations ofthe school where given to the parents by the teachers.The rules & regulation of the school where explained inEnglish and Hindi. Introduction of Mr. Sunil Rajput wasdone. Mr. Sunil Rajput gave a speech which was basedon psychology of human brain. In his speech he talkedabout the behavioral changes of parents and students.He gave tips on improving memory power and how onecan change his or her behavior.

A vote of thanks was given to Mr. Sunil Rajput and theparents. The orientation programme was ended bysinging National Anthem.

The Orientation for Parents for class VII was conductedon 24th June, 2016 at 8:30 am in the morning. Theprogramme commenced with a short prayer by theteacher. The parents were made aware of rules andregulations which are to be followed by the students andparents for the smooth functioning of the school. Thisprogramme served as a platform for parents andteachers to come together and make the school a betterplace for students.

Mr. Sunil Rajput was the resource person who gave aninspiring talk on child psychology and guided the parentsto have a better understanding of their children. Hefocused on factors such as controlling the human mind,discovering hidden talents, giving a good environment athome so that the child can grow up to becomesuccessful and happy citizens of the country. He haso�ered his services for education and counseling forstudents of our school.

An orientation programme for the parents of students ofstandard VIII was held in the school hall at 11:00 AM.

The programme began with a Bhajan followed by Prayer.

Tr. Usha Raju welcomed the parents and she remind theparents certain important rules and Regulations thatshould be followed by them and the students. She alsointroduces the speaker Mr. Sunil Rajput to parents. Mr.Sunil Rajput through his inspiring and interesting talktook the audience to another world.

He told to create career for a child there is theinvolvement of parents, teachers and the society.Teachers are the pillars as they train them in thechildhood to be a disciplined by person.

He advice the parents that what all degrees you hold isnot so important but how much you love your childrenmatters. Everyone should develop strong will and goodhabits.

Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli has arranged anorientation programme for the parents of standard IX.The session started at 8:45 am on 27th June 2016 withthe prayer followed by prayer song.Mr. Sunil Rajput, the resource person proceed thesession and shared his valuable information with theparents regarding the human psychology child’s brainwork, positive attitude, brain map etc. He guided theparents to understand the capabilities of the studentsand trained them to face the challenges in the society.He insisted the parents to guide their children when theyselect their career. There are various methods to handlethe child whether it is notorious or well disciplined.He advised the parents to treat the teacher s next to Godby giving the example of Duronacharya and Arjun ‘srelationship. He listed some successful personality likeSachin Tendulkar, Abdul Kalam and Amitabh Bachanwho struggled to come in life.Lastly, he informed the parents as Carmel Convent HighSchool has given an opportunity to start up the schoolfor the free consultation interested parents can takeprior appointments and can be liable for the bettermentof the children.

Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli has organizedHandwriting competition in English for classes I-IV andVIII-X and Marathi for classes V-VII for improving theirhandwriting which is essential to score well in the exam.

Carmel Treasures Retreat 2016-17July 3, 2016Categories: News

Carmel Treasure Retreat for classes IXA and IXB was heldon 2 July 2016 and 3 July 2016. During the Retreat asuitable atmosphere was created so that students couldinternalize what was being sent. Students were givenvalue based sessions and life skill activities. Their goalswere understood and they were encouraged to face thechallenges with courage. All the sessions were directedtowards inculcating positive attitude, self-con�dence,never quit and faith in God.

The students felt that two days of Carmel treasuresretreat was not only motivational but also an experienceto be cherished throughout their lives. Mother Veronicabook mark was given at the end of the Session.

Carmel Convent High School, kalamboli had organizedInter house Chess competition on 11 July 2016 forclass V to X. All the participants were very enthusiasticand in high spirits, eager to take part in ChessCompetition.

Total 96 students took participation from di�erentclasses. Total 24 participates (12 Boys and 12 Girls) wereselected for �nal round.

To bring out the creativity and artistic talents among thestudents, a drawing competition was conducted inCarmel Convent High School, Kalamboli on 14 July2016. All the classes from Class I to Class X hadparticipated with great enthusiasm.

Students proved that they are not excellent in academicsonly but they can also shine in exhibiting their skills bycreative presentation. The best drawing winners wereselected from each class and certi�cates will be given tothe winners.

Feast day celebration(Primary Section)July 14, 2016Categories: News

Carmel Convent High School celebrated the school feastMother of Carmel on 14 of July. The Primary sectionSTD I to V started their programme at 9 A.M in theschool hall. Sr. Hilda A.C. was the chief guest of theoccasion. The students welcomed the sisters withbouquet of �owers. The session began with prayerservice by STD III. STD I and II performed dance to thetune of music. The play on Elijah and the widow ofzaraphalth was put up by STD IV. The total trust and zealfor the living God was rewarded to the widow throughthe prayers o�ered by Elijah. The children of STD V putup the Marathi folk dance to add joy. So the childrenshow on the stage by exhibiting their talents. Sr. Hildispoke on Mother of Carmel and her protection towardsour school. Avani Patil gave the vote of thanks. Sr.Sushmita introduced the sisters to the children byinteracting with them.

Children were sweetened their mouths with pyramidchocolates. The school is grateful to the teachers whotook keen interest to prepare the children.

Feast day celebration(Secondary Section)July 14, 2016Categories: News

Carmel feast is celebrated in honour of Mother ofCarmel, The Patroness of Apostolic Carmelite Sisters. Itwas on the 16 of July the congregation of ApostolicCarmelite sisters were formed. So this day is celebratedas the school feast by The Carmel family with greatenthusiasm and pomp.

The day began with the Holy Mass for all The Christianchildren of the school followed by a programme.

The programme included prayer service, a prayer danceand a skit showing the importance of the day.

The Apostolic Carmel sisters were felicitated for theirservice.

Students of STD IX enacted a skit on the values taught inthe school.

Students of STD X made the day a memorable one withtheir dance performance.

Sr. Hildi A.C gave away the vote of thanks on behalf of allthe sisters.

The programme was concluded with the song Mother ofCarmel.

Sweets were distributed to the students.

Annual General Body Meeting was held on 13 August2016 Primary Section 8:00 AM and Secondary Section10:30 AM. The programme started with a prayer dancefollowed by a prayer.

The PTA secretary Mrs. Tereza Tony took the initiative ofwelcoming  The Manager Sr. Dorita, Principal Sr.Sushmita, The guest speaker Fr. Baptist and all theparents gathered for the programme.

The Minutes of the previous AGM was read by the PTASecretary Ms. Tereza Tony.

The Treasurer Mrs. Sudha Kurane read out the Annual�nancial Report to the Annual �nancial Report to theParents.

The std X Toppers who scored 90% and above werefelicitated with a �ower and a trophy sponsored by ThePTA.

The school Activity report was shown on the slide by ourTr. Ms. Monika Vanwari.

The principal Sr. Sushmita addressed the gathering andinformed them that she expected co-operation from theparents. Sr. Shushmita also briefed on the rules andregulations of the school.

PT Master Sandeep Gaikwad spoke to the parents aboutthe rules and regulations of sports activities. He also

informed the parents about the �rst aid help given tothe students in case of any accident occurred in school,and expected the parents to co-operate with the school.

The Elections for the PTA was conducted, ballot paperswere distributed and the contestants were called on thestage to introduce themselves. All the parents cast theirvote and ballot papers were sent for counting to a teamof teachers.

Fr. Baptist the Chief speaker spoke to the gathering ongood parenting.

The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Tr.Anvita for the Primary section and Tr. Girija for theSecondary section followed by the National Anthem.

70th Year of IndependenceAugust 15, 2016Categories: News

Independence Day was celebrated in CCHS, this yearalso with great enthusiasm. The �ag hosting ceremony,followed by a cultural programme was scheduled.Students of classes from VI – X attended the celebration.

The national �ag was hoisted by one of our seniorteachers, Tr. Sangeeta. All saluted the national tricolourand proudly sang the national anthem.

A short cultural programme was organized by thestudents of class Ix. The programme was started with aprayer dance followed by a prayer service.

A skit was performed by the students. The skit conveyedthe message that students should attend the school onthe celebration of national festivals and must payrespect to the martyrs who shed their lives for themother land. It also conveyed the di�erence betweencelebration national festivals and regional festivals.

The famous poem ‘ Phool ki Abhelasha’ by the famousnational poet Shri Makhanlal Chaturvedi and dances onsongs from di�erent languages was part of the skit.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Tr.Sreelata and sweets were distributed to the Studentsand Teachers.

The session started with a beautiful song on welcome.

The students were asked to tell about their aim in life.

The Theme of the retreat was ‘Values or Valuables’.

The students were taught that sacri�ce was one of themost important elements in a relationship.

The students were made aware that life is not meant forgoing through but life is for growing through.

Father Paul was able to keep the session lively by givingvarious life experiences and showing heart touchingvideos.

Energetic action songs were sung by Father Rocky.

Picnic tour 2016-17 (Classes: V-VII)September 30, 2016Categories: News

A picnic trip was arranged for the students of class V,VIand VII on the 30 of September,2016.It was not only afun-�lled day but also an Educational trip as the placesvisited were Tarapore Aquarium, Nehru Science Centre,Nehru Planetarium and Discover Science. The studentswere delighted watching the di�erent species of themarine life in the aquarium. They gained a lot ofknowledge and made a note of the exhibits and modelsof the science Museum. The best experience of the daywas the one hour show on space and its mysteries in theNehru Planetarium. The Discover India Museum gave anopportunity for the students to have a peek in historicalculture of our country. The teachers and escorts ensuredthat the students were safe and comfortable throughoutthe day and their material need too was seen to. Theywere provided breakfast and snacks in the bus. Thestudents reached back to school on time by 7:30 P.M.We thank god for granting them an enjoyable day.

Spell bee Competition 2016-17 (Classes: V-VI)October 8, 2016Categories: News

We Carmelites had Spell Bee Competition for Std V-VI on8 October 2016. Teachers Anvita and Rekha were incharge of Spell Bee was conducted prior one week forselecting the students. From the �rst round around 50students were selected both from V-VI, then the secondround was conducted with tough spellings from which12 students were chosen. The �nale was conducted on8 October, where we had four rounds. Four groupswith 3 students present in each group. Sr. Sushmita ourdearest Principal she too was present in the audience tohave a look at the Quiz. Both the teachers had appointedfour judges viz Tr. Sudha, Tr. Sreelata, Tr. Sulekha and Tr.Tereza. Anvita Tr. hosted the whole programme witheach and every round explained to the participants verythoroughly. First round (Buzzer round) where eachgroup had time to buzz to spell out the spellings, fromwhich group 3 got eliminated, second round was 30 sectime limit, word to spell out how much spellings one canspell out from that again group 1 got eliminated. Nowremained group 2 and group 1 where we had subjectiveround, participants to pick out the chits. The judgeswould decide the subject and  give them the word, whichthe participants will spell out. Last round was “Hard notto crack” where each group participant had to decidehow many points they could give or decide to gain marksand when they spell out the words properly. Finallygroup ‘4’ was declared as winner.

Lastly, vote of thanks was delivered by Tr. Rekha. V-VI stdstudents thoroughly enjoyed all the four rounds on the�nale day which was been conducted, overall it was veryinformative tricky and good to scratch our brains.

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought andthe thought had found words. Poetry is the rhythmicalcreation of beauty in words. Poetry comes alive to me,through recitation”.

Oh! What a beautiful way to express something throughinnocent words and expression in a melody with allsmiles and giggles. That is what our students ofstandards I to IV did on 8 October 2016, with all theircon�dence and courage to stand before the audience;recite loudly and clearly. All the poems were based onvalues. The students recited with a lot of zeal andenthusiasm. The judges were invited to witness thecompetition. They were Sr. Amabella, Tr. Tereza and Tr.Girija. After the performance our esteemed judgesshared their encouraging thoughts with the students. Atthe concluding part of this event, Tr. Nutan delivered thevote of thanks, expressing her gratitude to all those whocontributed in making this event a success, with a specialthanks to our dearest Principal Sr. Sushmita, who isindeed our greatest support.

Hence, after the conclusion of this event, I can say thatthe best teamwork comes from people who are workingindependently, towards one goal, in unison.

A bright sunny morning and Carmel Convent HighSchool was all set to celebrate the school foundress’birthday Mother Veronica’s Birth Anniversary and alsothe Birth Anniversary of the Father  of our nationMahatma Gandhi. Students of class VIII put up a goodProgramme within a short time.

The programme began with the lighting of the Diya bythe Principal and other dignataries which was thenfollowed by a meaningful prayer service.  A skit onMother Veronica and Mahatma Gandhi were depicted. Amime by the boys was enjoyed by the audience.

In the end, the Principal addressed the students byhelping them realize the true value of the two days. ThePrincipal thanked the teachers and the students for theire�orts.

Educational tour (Classes I – IV)October 27, 2016Categories: News

On 27th of October 2016 our students from std I to IVhad gone to UK Resort and Parle G factory for Picnic cumExcursion along with their teachers.

All the students from I to IV reached the school onThursday at 7:00 am. The class The class teachers askedthe students to board the bus while left by 8:15 am.

First we visited the Parle G Factory. The students were�rst shown a small animated �lm on how biscuits andConfectioneries are made. Later on the students weretaken for a walk in the factory where they saw how hiden seek biscuits were made and packed. Students werevery happy as they enjoyed themselves and alsobecause they got complimentary biscuit packets fromthe factory.

At around 11:00 am we reached the resort. At �rst thestudents enjoyed a good breakfast after changing theirclothes. The resort had a beautiful garden with slides,swings and a mini train. It also had 2 swimming poolsand rain dance. All the students were served good lunchin the afternoon. At around 4 PM there was a magicshow for the students followed by DJ dance and lightrefreshment. We left the resort by 5 PM and reached theschool sound and safe by 6 PM. It was a veryenthusiastic educational tour and all the studentsenjoyed a lot.

Send o� ceremony of Tr. SangitaNovember 18, 2016Categories: News

On 18th November 2016 we Carmelites gathered on theschool premises to bid adieu to Tr. Sangita. Theprogramme started with a prayer dance by students ofclass VII followed by prayer service and prayer song byclass IV. The chief guest Tr. Sangita lit the candle.Students of class X performed a spectacular culturaldance. Then students of 8th and 9th standard came onthe stage to share their experiences with Tr. Sangita. Amarvelous skit was presented by students of class Vbased on Tr. Sangita’s life. It was followed by a poemrecitation about Tr. Sangita by students of class III.Another dance was performed by students of class VIII.In the end the farewell song was sung by students ofclass VI. After the cultural programme Tr. Sangita gavethe vote of thanks to everyone. Each and every teacherpresent in the programme shared their rich andmemorable experiences with Tr. Sangita. Theprogramme was concluded after a grand tea partyorganized by the school management.

A Real Experience to a Village – Saguna BaugNovember 26, 2016Categories: News

Carmel Convent High School Organised an EducationalTrip to Saguna Baug on 26th November 2016. Thestudents of High school and sta� visited the picnic spotat 9.30 a.m. As soon as we reached the picnic spot at9.30 a.m, there awaited hot breakfast for us. After thatwe had an hour’s farm visit where the guide informedabout various plants and farming activates done bythem. Students were asked to carry their caps, hats,water bottle before farm visit as they experienced theend of November heat. Students were escorted tovarious places which gave them a complete villageexperience like �shing, boating bullock cart riding etc.They also o�ered us chilled kokam juice. The lunch wasprovided at 2.00 p.m. It was awesome and gave thefeeling of homemade delicacy. After the delicious lunchstudents were taken to river and that was the best timeeveryone enjoyed when outside temperature wasaround 35 degree celsius it was so enjoyable to enter thecool and clean river water. Around 5.15 pm we hadtea/co�ee and headed to our buses.

WORLD AIDS DAYDecember 1, 2016Categories: News

Every festival is celebrated with great vigour at Carmel.The most fascinating fact is that Carmel never stops atcelebrating only festivals, since the very beginning it hastaught its students to respect and love those, who needlove the most, ie. the poor and the sick.

1st of December which is celebrated world wide as theWorld AIDS Day, was also celebrated by the students ofCarmel along with the AIDS patients at JYOTHI’STERMINAL AIDS CENTRE, Kalamboli. The students ofclass VIII put an energetic programme that include afunny act that brought smiles and laughter on the facesof in mates of the centre. A short prayer was said forthem.

In the end, The Sisters thanked the school Management,teachers and students of Carmel and appreciated thechildren for the lovely programme.

On 22nd Dec 2016, Carmel Convent High School,Kalamboli celebrated Christmas this year in a specialway with the unfortunate slum dwellers of the nearbylocality.

Around 120 poor people were a part of this Christmascelebration. A cultural programme was put up by thestudents, depicting the importance of Christmas.

In a true spirit of love, joy and sharing, the studentsarranged and served meals to them.

To experience the joy of giving, the students collectedand distributed blankets, bed sheets, soaps, biscuits etcto the poor.

The school believes in inculcating the value of service tomankind and this event gave the students theopportunity to serve the downtrodden and the lessfortunate of the society.

Christmas CelebrationDecember 23, 2016Categories: News

Christmas eve was celebrated in Carmel Convent HighSchool on 23th December 2016 with many colourfulevents. The programme started with a prayer dance bythe students of class III and VI. It was followed by skit,performed by IIIrd and VIth standard students based onBirth of Jesus. The skit also included many carols sung byIst and IXth std students. Then came the polka dancefrom the students of III-C. It was a spectacular item. Thestudents of IIIrd and VIth standard brought the shepherddance to the audience. It was totally a di�erent kind ofitem to everyone. It was heart soothing. Then thestudents of III-B performed an entertainment dancewhich everyone liked very much. Tr. Shreelatha gavevote of thanks. Then the kids of standard I sang Jingle –Bell accompanied by the performance of Santa Clause.The programme ended with the spectacularperformance by Santa Clause. At the end of theprogramme, sweets were distributed to all the children.Thus the Christmas celebrated of this year ended withsweet memories to carry.
