Continuous Quality Growth... Excellence for All!

In March of this year, our Board of School Trustees confirmed my appointment as the next superintendent to lead Westfield Washington Schools beginning July 1, 2016. I am honored to be chosen for this tremendous leadership opportunity to serve Westfield Washington Schools and our community.

The deep commitment and passion for public education in the community of Westfield is what attracted me to this position. I have a great deal of respect for the many opportunities provided for students and the district’s outstanding reputation for success, with an intentional focus on meeting the diverse needs of our students.

I have developed a three phase plan to ensure a smooth transition in leadership. The following phases are interwoven and will build upon the momentum established for continuous quality growth by our highly dedicated and competent team of employees, as well as partners in education:

1. Listen and Learn 2. Engage and Energize 3. Synthesize and Strategize

Since March, I have had the opportunity to do a lot of listening and learning. I have been delighted to tour the district and to meet many stakeholders, as well as learn about the district’s programs and initiatives. I would be delighted to meet and/or speak with any community member or group, so please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

I look forward to engaging with the stakeholders of the community and becoming a part of the fabric of this rapidly growing city. Working together, we have three important goals on the horizon: addressing growth and the need for space in our schools, renewing our operational referendum, and updating our strategic plan to build upon the quality education programming and to prepare our students for life in the 21st century.

Together we will grow and work to expand upon a strong tradition of academic excellence and continuous improvement!

Congratulations! to the FIVE Westfield schools named 2014-15 Four Star Schools by the Indiana Department of Education. "In order to achieve this designation, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in two ISTEP-based categories. Additionally, a qualifying school must

have earned the highest designation in the state’s accountability system and be accredited by the Indiana Department of Education. A total of 287 schools received the award throughout the state." Congratulations to Maple Glen Elementary, Oak Trace Elementary, Shamrock Springs Elementary, Westfield Middle School and Westfield High School for being named Four Star Schools!

You don’t need to spend much time at Westfield High School before you hear someone talk about access and success, the cornerstones of the school’s successful philosophy. Named a U.S. News & World Report Top High School, WHS provides enriching opportunities for students delivered by a talented, dedicated team of educators.

In addition to again being named a Four Star School for 2014-15 by the Indiana Department of Education, WHS was one of 150 schools internationally (just five in Indiana) that piloted the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma, an innovative, prestigious diploma program that gives students an opportunity to apply critical thinking, collaborative problem solving, and research skills in a cross-curricular context. The 2015-16 year was the first to see graduates with a Capstone Diploma issued by the College Board, which requires completion of six different AP classes, as well as an AP Seminar course in the junior year and an AP Research course in the senior year.

Enrollment at WHS for the 2015-2016 school year was 2,050. In May of 2016, 431 students graduated from Westfield High School, with 88% reporting they will continue their post-secondary education in the fall, 52% of the class earning an Academic Honors Diploma, and a remarkable $6.2 million in scholarships awarded.

WHS has built community relationships to enhance the learning environment in and out of the classroom. Partnerships with the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI) and Jonathan Byrd’s will provide opportunities for students interested in the building trades and hospitality industries. In the 2015-16 school year, WHS hosted its first ever career fair, with more than 60 organizations represented.

Westfield High School’s community stadium officially opened this year, funded by generous donors, sponsorships, and the sale of school property. It is a source of pride that no current taxpayer dollars were used to build the stadium. During the 2016-17 school year, Westfield High School will kick off a year-long celebration leading up to the school’s 20th anniversary, with events planned to celebrate the past and prepare for the future.

Westfield Middle School

Westfield Middle School continues to expand student offerings and innovation to benefit the student experience. The 2015-16 school year saw the expansion of the school’s world language offerings, adding French to a curriculum which already includes Spanish. WMS has more club offerings than ever before, including a new Elite Gaming Live club, designed to give video game fans an opportunity to bring what has traditionally been a solo experience into a group environment that offers learning modules, competition, and fun – and a better connection between their hobby and computer science.

The implementation of a building-wide management system, dubbed Canvas, gave teachers, students, and parents a common platform on which to communicate. Parents can keep up with what’s going on in class, find out quiz dates, and confirm homework assignments. In the coming year, WMS will work to make Canvas even more user friendly.

WMS students “rocked” the PSAT 8/9, which replaced ReadiStep, with the highest score ever for the school, far above state and national averages. Ninety-nine percent of students hit the college readiness benchmark in reading and writing. The combined 7th & 8th grade Academic Team won the Hamilton County tournament, beating all other Hamilton County schools in a competition covering math, language arts, and social studies and science. The WMS yearbook again earned national accolades, including honors from the National Scholastic Press Association and nabbing the Journalism Education Association's Aspiring Young Journalist award - only given to one student in the country. WMS’s Future City Team won Best City Name and Best Use of Agriculture awards at the 2016 Indiana Future City Competition in Ft. Wayne.

Learning goes beyond the classroom and into the community at WMS with an engaged and active staff and student body. More than 2,000 hours of service to the school and community was completed by WMS students, including members of SOS (Students of Service), National Junior Honor Society, and athletic clubs. More than $13,000 was raised for Relay for Life by the school, always one of the more active teams at the annual Westfield fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

September 2016 Continuous Quality Growth... Excellence for All!


Westfield Intermediate School, home to our 5th and 6th graders, kicked off the school year on an exciting note with the addition of a new principal: Westfield resident Annette Patchett, who has 23 years of experience as an educator. A second, full-time assistant principal was added to WIS as well as a new special education teacher and instrumental music teacher. In other exciting and noticeable news, ground was broken at the end of the school year on the new Riverview Health facility, which will occupy the corner of U.S. 31 and S.R. 32, just south of WIS. Construction is expected to take approximately 18 months.

WIS, with a student population that has reached 1200 students, runs on triad teams, with each student spending time in three focused classes: science/social studies; math; and language arts. This allows for more in-depth focus in core classes.

Notable events for the year included having both the Math and Spell Bowl Teams state ranked, with the Spell Bowl team coming in the Top 5 in Indiana. The 5th grade students hosted a tea party as they learned about the Revolutionary War and they “toured” a museum in Boston via Skype that walked through the events of the original Tea Party. Three WIS band concerts, two choir concerts, a musical (Once Upon a Dream), a Family Math and Science Night, and a Student Council trip to Chicago were other memorable highlights.

WIS was the top fundraising school in the state for Hoops for Heart, which is an active way to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Students also raised money for the Emily Yott Foundation with teachers volunteering to kiss a cow to raise dollars.

Mobile technology carts were added to help with instruction. The Westfield Rotary Club installed two Gaga ball pits and a volleyball net for outside recess, and the PTO added playground equipment.

Carey ridge elementary

Carey Ridge Highlights...

Carey Ridge Elementary School had an exciting 2015-16 school year, with a year of transition on the horizon.

After a 42-year career as an educator, Principal Susan Hobson retired. Mrs. Hobson was beloved by parents, teachers, and students alike. Andy Hilton, who had been serving as assistant principal of CRES, was named principal starting with the 2016-17 school year.

There was a big push toward technology at Carey Ridge this year. New iPads were added to the classroom to help present all aspects of the curriculum in a fun and engaging way.

In addition to classroom learning, CRES focused on non-cognitive skills, such as empathy, grit, resiliency, and self-control, and will continue to do so in the coming school year. These positive character attributes are designed for students to carry them into the world of work and throughout their lives. A CRES “Kindness Week” allowed students and staff to act on these concepts, while a “Bully Awareness” week opened the door to productive conversations and role playing. Non-cognitive skills go hand in hand with Westfield’s Guiding Principles: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Honest, Be Compassionate, and Be Hardworking.

Giving back to the community is important to the team at Carey Ridge and it’s also a way to demonstrate empathy and compassion. CRES supported 12 area families during the holidays, providing presents and food through staff and student donations. The CRES Student Council had a successful food drive with all donations going to Open Doors.

The energetic CRES student body participated in Spell Bowl and Math Bowl, and the CRES Singers performed at Kindred Transitional Care.

Maple Glen elementary

The 2015-16 school year marked Maple Glen’s 10th anniversary, and the whole year felt like a celebration.

Maple Glen students finished as runners-up in the Indiana Academic Spell Bowl Competition for Elementary School – a remarkable feat, considering there were a record setting 514 teams competing. MGES also finished in the top three of local schools competing in the statewide Math Bowl competition, and the school also won the Homecoming Parade Float competition.

Unique to Maple Glen, the Shamrock Club is a student-based community outreach program. To be a part of Shamrock Club, students must complete four (or more) one-hour acts of service. These acts can be in the school, with Scouts, with a church, or anywhere in the community. This school year, 80 students participated in Shamrock Club, including supporting Project Linus an organization that hand makes blankets for critically ill children.

Maple Glen strives to create students who are disciplined, drivers of their own success, and empathetic to others. To reflect those values, Maple Glen hosted a Disabilities Week, a Be a Buddy week, and a Random Acts of Kindness week, when students focused on giving and accepting from others. For the last five years, the school has donated food it grew on Maple Glen property to Open Doors, local food banks, and local churches. In the 2015-16 school year, this teacher and parent driven project donated 2,000-3,000 pounds of vegetables to deserving agencies.

Two exciting projects are reaching the finish line at Maple Glen. The school finalized plans for an outdoor classroom and greenhouse to be completed before the start of the 2016-17 school year. The Estridge family donated the classroom, while Heartland Growers donated the greenhouse. These two buildings will unlock numerous opportunities for staff, students, and families.

The second project celebrates Maple Glen’s 10th anniversary. Local artist Sofiya Inger and MGES art teacher Beth Siminski have created a stained glass mural that will greet visitors. All MGES students worked in art class to create unique 4 inch by 4 inch designs that will be displayed on the mural.

Monon trail elementary

The City of Westfield has seen explosive growth in the last few years, and Monon Trail Elementary saw the highest percentage increase of new students. The smallest of Westfield Washington Schools' six elementary schools, Monon Trail’s enrollment jumped from 300 to 376 students during the 2015-16 school year.

The staff at Monon Trail Elementary works hard to create a learning environment where the focus is on every student, regardless of their strengths, weaknesses, or life circumstances. The MTES team believes that if they can connect students in meaningful and measurable ways, they can help all students reach their full potential in an environment that inspires, educates, and supports healthy social and emotional development. The staff spent time during the summer in professional development opportunities ranging from classroom instruction, studying the new textbook adoption for Math, and growing their understanding of multicultural awareness.

With growth like MTES has experienced, comes more opportunities for students. Last year, Monon Trail was able to offer students many new clubs for the first time, including Running Club (100 Mile), robotics, gardening, and Lego. The school also had the most participants in the Underground Railroad Run, benefiting the Westfield Education Foundation, and earned $500 for the school’s physical education program. New sections in the 2nd and 3rd grade will be added in school year 2016-17 to meet the demands of the growth.

Monon Trail has a strong sense of community, so it is no surprise that community partnerships are key to the school’s success. Outreach and connections developed in the last few years were utilized in the 2015-16 school year to align resources to better support students. Several community organizations will have a presence at the next back-to-school Ice Cream Social, with nearby Chatham Hills donating hot dogs to add to the fun. Assisted living operator Wellbrooke of Westfield will offer students the opportunity for intergenerational mentoring. Unique to Monon Trail, WHS students and adults offer mentoring and tutoring to students on Wednesday nights through Whiz Kids.

In 2016-17, Open Doors will break ground on their building on the south side of the school, providing another opportunity for learning and community engagement for the Monon Trail students and staff.

oak trace elementary

It was an amazing year of ups and downs at Oak Trace Elementary School. The 2015-2016 school year kicked off celebrating their recognition as an Indiana and National Blue Ribbon School. In November, a group of twenty teachers, support staff, and spouses traveled to Washington D. C. to explore the nations’ capitol and accept this award for Oak Trace.

Oni Davenport, a fourth grade student at Oak Trace, fighting cancer, was honored as a Riley Hospital Champion. In this role, Oni helped to support Riley patients around the state of Indiana. As a school, we honored and supported Oni by having a dance party and raising money to purchase a red wagon at Riley Hospital in his name. Mrs. Zabst, one of our kindergarten teachers, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the fall. The Oak Trace family helped to support her through cards and well wishes, meals, visits, and raising money for a playhouse on the kindergarten playground that was dedicated in her honor and named the “Mrs. Zabst Friendship Cottage.” As a kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Zabst always believed in the importance of play in early childhood and she will be greatly missed as she retired in the spring.

The Oak Trace PTO also started a fun evening called “Savor Westfield.” The PTO invited many local restaurants to set up at Bridgewater and sold tickets to raise funds for a new playground. The evening was a lot of fun and a huge success! Moving into the 2016-2017 school year, we look forward to building an addition to Oak Trace with more kindergarten classrooms and a small multipurpose room near the cafeteria. We also look forward to a continued focus on academic growth and achievement, as well as a focus on our needs within the school family.

The 2015-2016 school year was another successful one for Shamrock Springs Elementary. The staff focused on the four core values to support the school's mission/vision of continuous quality growth for all: collaboration, professionalism, relationships, and growth. Along with maintaining a focus on providing the students a rigorous learning environment, SSES teachers also stressed the importance of grit and having good self-control. SSES students learned this by persevering through their day and having good conversations during their "Classroom Meetings" on this topic.

Shamrock Springs has a tremendous "family." Not only does the school have a staff that is truly student-oriented, but SSES parents also share the belief that students' needs should come first. Many parents volunteer their time, energy, and talents to help support students and staff. Without parental support, Shamrock Springs is just a building. With their support and encouragement (along with the talented SSES staff), the building becomes a "home" - a place where everyone can grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

Shamrock Springs again achieved high accolades from the State, earning 4-star status for the 2014-2015 school year. Parents, through a strong, coordinated effort with our PTO, raised more money than ever before, all of which went directly back to our students. As the team celebrated the successes of the current year, staff members planned for the future. Throughout the year, the SSES team worked hard developing a new curriculum map - a framework that will connect literacy standards with social studies and science. This framework will support our core values of collaboration and growth. During the 2016-2017 school year, the school will launch a new 30 minute block of time that will be used for remediation to help those students who need a little extra support, and enrichment time for those students who have mastered the curriculum. Good times ahead!

The 2015-16 school year marked the official beginning of the Leader In Me journey at Washington Woods. The year was full of highlights and "firsts," causing students, staff, and families to look down this road with excitement and pride.

Before the school year even began, WWES partners at FranklinCovey invited the school to host a major leadership event in November. The keynote speaker would be provided and the school would do everything else. The school community came together to prepare more than 100 students for building leadership roles during the event--everything from emcees to greeters, from coat check to art docents, from guides to panel members. Many more students served as hosts and leaders for more than 25 classroom visits. Nearly 200 visitors attended the Premier Leadership Day at WWES, a towering achievement and a unique start to our school's leadership journey.

An ongoing theme of the year was student-led convocations. The focus was to prepare the students to be onstage with no adult back-up. Several events were held, including a very special Bus Driver Appreciation day. Students also had leadership roles in our Little Leaves Night for incoming kindergarteners and their parents. There was a student-led 7 Habits convocation and a student-led mission statement convocation. The year ended with students leading the most special ever annual awards convocation.

The annual Washington Woods whole-school trip this year became a whole-school service day. Working with United Way, and supported by a Youth As Resources grant, the school arranged for each grade level to work at a different site in the community. The day was a great opportunity for students to provide service and leadership.

Westfield Washington Schools aims to be a world-class learning organization. To achieve that vision, curriculum and instruction need to be at the forefront of our endeavors. WWS teachers continue to use a lesson design process, which capitalizes on what we know about our students and how they learn best. The Gradual Release of Responsibility instructional framework, which provides for modeling, demonstration, and checking for understanding through whole group, small group, and individualized instruction, helps students to become stronger readers, writers, and analytical thinkers.

WWS focuses not only on cognitive and critical thinking skills, but also on the well-being of our students. Well-being involves our guiding principles: compassion, honesty, hard work, respect, and responsibility, as well as the non-cognitive skills: grit resiliency, empathy, and self-control, to encourage socio-emotional and mental health.

College and career readiness for all students continues to be a focus. Students are deemed “college and career ready” when they have the knowledge, skills, and behaviors to succeed and persist without remediation in credit-bearing general education courses or high-quality two-year certificate programs. To aid in this preparation, WWS aims for an aligned, K-12 viable curriculum implemented with dependability, consisting of “real-world” resources, engaging instruction, and authentic assessments.

The 2015-16 school year brought a renewed focus on technology infrastructure and devices for both instruction and learning to help our students meet the demands of a complex, highly-technological, knowledge-based society. Westfield Washington Schools continues to balance offering students the best opportunities to learn and grow while managing our fiscal resources. This would not have been possible without the community supporting the Operations Referendum that provided the district with additional resources to meet student needs.

We’re pleased to say that we were able to lower the referendum amount in 2016. However, we will need to ask for a renewal of the Operations Referendum in the near future, but we will be requesting a reduced rate. An improved state funding formula and increased assessed value have allowed us to lower the tax rate, but fiscal responsibility is still a major focus for the district.

Westfield Washington Schools continues to be one of the fastest growing school districts in Indiana. Growth issues will present both opportunities and obstacles in the near future. Long-range planning is underway to address the influx of new students. Construction of additional facilities is inevitable, but prudent planning can minimize the tax impact. We also have the obligation to maintain our current facilities. Expenditures will continue to rise due to growth, but so will our revenue and tax base.

Westfield is a great community that is very supportive of its schools and we look forward to continuing to work together to keep Westfield Washington Schools one of the best school districts in Indiana.

Each school building has many levels of special education

programs/services as well as a variety of student disabilities that

range from consultation to very intensive services. WWS special

education programs serve students from age 3-22 years with a

spectrum of services that are addressed based on the individual

student needs.

Beginning with the 2015-16 school year, Westfield Washington

Schools (WWS) is a single district Local Educational Agency

(LEA) for providing special education services to all of its

students and no longer a member of the Hamilton-Boone-

Madison Special Services Cooperative. The concept of inclusion

can be understood within the context of the Least Restrictive

Environment provision as outlined in P.L. 101-476, The Individuals

with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). IDEA mandates that all

students with disabilities receive a Free Appropriate Public

Education (FAPE) within the setting that most adequately meets

their diverse instructional program and related-service needs.

Each school has a minimum of one counselor to work with

individual students, small groups, parents, and staff to support a

variety of needs. The guidance staff coordinates our Character

Education Program/bullying prevention. They also lead small

group sessions on a number of topics. Counselors tend to

social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs, along with

working in a leadership capacity within each of their buildings.

Counselors also coordinate ISTEP+, NWEA, and Las Links

tests along with other local and state assessments and staff

professional development.

Each school has a nurse on staff to oversee the general health

concerns of the students. Nurses are active participants of

the educational team. WWS nurses provide parent, staff, and

student instruction on various health issues, perform or monitor

a number of medical procedures, and work closely with several

community groups within Hamilton County.

During the 2014-15 school year, WWS initiated a partnership with

our school clinics and Riverview Hospital.

What are the Requirements of the School Wellness Policy?

As per the 2004 Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act, a school

wellness policy must include, at a minimum, the following four

components:

• Goals for nutrition education, physical activity, and other school-based activities that are designed to promote student wellness in a manner that the local educational agency deems appropriate; http://www.fns.usda.gov/tn/Healthy/policy_component1.html

• Nutrition guidelines for all foods available on each school campus during the school day, with the objectives of promoting student health and reducing childhood obesity, and assuring that school meal guidelines are consistent with federal requirements; http://www.fns.usda.gov/tn/Healthy/policy_component2.html

• A plan for measuring the implementation of the wellness policy, including the designation of one or more persons charged with operational responsibility for ensuring that the school meets the local wellness policy; and http://www.fns.usda.gov/tn/Healthy/policy_component3.html

• Involvement of parents, students, representatives of the school food authority, the school board, school administrators, and the public in the development of the school wellness policy.

Westfield Washington Schools is proud of our English Learners (EL)

programs that serve our students whose native language is not

English. During school year 2015-16, we helped more than 300

students who speak 30 different languages advance in their English

proficiencies. Services vary from specifically designed classes

for English language instruction to additional support provided

within the regular classroom setting. Students not needing this

level of support remain in a general education environment, and

their progress is monitored through communication between their

general education teacher and the district's English as a Second

Language (ESL) teachers.

Currently, EL programs are offered at Westfield High School,

Westfield Middle School, and Westfield Intermediate School.

Elementary EL instruction is provided at Carey Ridge, Monon Trail,

and Washington Woods.

At WWS, we provide a supportive environment that helps children reach their full potential with several programs designed to consider their individual needs.

Launched by the City of Westfield in 2009, the Westfield Youth Assistance Program (WYAP) has been a huge success – serving more than 600 youth. The free and voluntary program assists youth 3 to 17 years of age. WYAP focuses on prevention for youth, rather than using disciplinary measures and adjudication. Westfield Washington Schools and the Westfield Police Department, which have been in partnership since the program started, work together to identify and refer students to the program. WYAP assists with the following, but is not limited to, coordination of services, a mentoring program, camps and recreation opportunities, family education, youth and family counseling, skill building tutoring programs, and youth anger management classes.

The Before and After Care (BAC) program is available at all elementary schools before school starting at 6:45 a.m. and after school until 6:00 p.m. BAC also offers full daycare during staff development days, flex days, and holiday breaks. Wrapped around a child’s school day, BAC is designed to feel like a club for students while meeting parents’ needs for childcare.

Before and After Care

Available at WIS, Zone 58 serves families before starting at 6:45 a.m. until

school starts and after school until 6:00 p.m. Zone 58 is designed to appeal

to the pre-teen age group for 5th grade up to age 13 with activities such

as recreational games, interest clubs, computer lab time, and homework

support. Students enjoy choices and freedom in a supervised, safe

environment that parents can trust.

The TOTS (Toddlers of Teachers & Staff) program is a full daycare and preschool center serving infants and toddlers of WWS teachers and staff. The preschool classroom serves WWS teachers and staff, as well as younger siblings of enrolled WWS students.

Westfield Washington Schools Student Support Programs follows Indiana standards for staff-student ratios, assuring individual attention. Last year, Student Support Programs served 1,036 children in the school year programs and approximately 1,400 children during the summer. Student Support Programs is committed to a partnership with our parents in ways that provide nurturing experiences that strengthen children and prepares them for even greater school success. We are ambitious about the many ways that we may use our rich WWS resources outside of the school day to serve our families in any way that enhances family life here in Westfield.

The All Aboard! program is a pre-kindergarten experience designed for those children who will be attending kindergarten the following

school year. Lessons are designed to prepare the child for kindergarten at Westfield Washington Schools. Children spend the day

in a more structured group setting including one rest/quiet time. The program is held during the school year in all WWS elementary

buildings and has limited enrollment space and offers three plans: school year, readiness, and holiday break.

All Aboard!

Westfield Washington Schools Student Support Programs offers an enriched summer for Westfield children as young as 3 years

old through high school. The summer TOTS program is a full-time summer childcare program for 3 and 4 year olds and is open

from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children living in the WWS school district who are entering kindergarten through 13 years of age may

attend the traditional full day camp open from 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Traditional full day camp offers weekly enrollment and is jam

packed with fun summer activities and field trips throughout the summer. The 2016 Westfield Summer Camp program also offers

opportunity and sports camp experiences hosted by WWS teachers, staff, and coaches. The opportunity and sports camps are

partial day, week-long camps providing a wide variety of activities and interests that appeal to children, pre-teens, and teenagers.

The Westfield Washington Board of School

Trustees is a five-member governing body

responsible for setting policy and priorities for

our growing school district.

Key among those priorities is the fiscal

sustainability of our district. For this reason,

building projects are mapped out strategically

by measuring and monitoring growth in

our township and allowing for just-in-time

construction.

The board has been very successful in

hiring outstanding administrators to lead our

district and schools. Our high-quality school

administrators continue to set the tone and

direction for the district by recruiting the best

teachers and ensuring resources are available to

create engaging and meaningful work that leads

to profound student learning.

Together, the board and administration share

in the district’s commitment to foster an

environment where students can accomplish

great things and reach their highest individual

potential. The board approved the 2011-2016 WWS

Strategic Plan to guide the district’s continuing

work in fulfilling our mission and vision.

Board members serve four-year terms beginning

on January 1 following their election in the

November general election. Terms of office are

staggered so that two members are elected

in one year and the other three members are

elected two years later. Each board member

represents a specific district of the township

with one serving in an at-large position.

The board meets the second Tuesday of each

month at 7 p.m. in the Westfield Intermediate

School Multipurpose Room, located at 326 W.

Main St., Westfield unless otherwise noted.

Occasionally, a second monthly meeting is held

on the fourth Tuesday. The public is always

welcome and may sign up to address the board

during the public comments segment of the

regular meetings. Public input on major projects

is further solicited via public hearings and

special meetings that are scheduled as needed.
