ANNUAL REPORT SESSION: 2016-17 INTER-HOUSE ENGLISH SPEECH/DEBATE COMPETITION January 16, 2016 To develop a competitive spirit, creativity and divergent thinking among students, different competitions are conducted at ABPS, UAIL Campus round the year. These co- curricular activities provide students opportunities to showcase their talents and creativity. The participants were adjudged on the basis of content, confidence, fluency and accuracy. INTER-HOUSE ENGLISH SPEECH/DEBATE COMPETITION

January 16, 2016

To develop a competitive spirit, creativity and divergent thinking among students,

different competitions are conducted at ABPS, UAIL Campus round the year. These co-

curricular activities provide students opportunities to showcase their talents and

creativity. The Inter-House English Speech/Debate Competition was conducted on 16th

January, 2016 in the AVH of the school. The students of classes-III-IV participated in the

The participants were adjudged on the basis of content, confidence, fluency and

accuracy. It is a matter of delight that Mr. Sonal Jena from Corporate Communications,

Aditya Birla Group had kindly consented to be one of the judges of the competition.

‘Matter, Method and Manner are the three important ingredients of a good debater,’ said

Mr. Jena in his message to the students. The Principal of the school, Mr. L.N Dash

appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged them to bring laurels to

school. The winners were awarded with prizes and certificates.

NETAJI & VEER SURENDRA SAI JAYANTI CELEBRATED

January 23, 2016

To pay tribute and commemorate the birthday of the legendary freedom fighters

NetajiSubhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai, a special morning assembly was

conducted on 23rd January, 2016. Mr. L. N Dash, the Principal of the school along with

the teachers, Head Boy and Head Girl offered flower petals on the portraits of Netaji and

Winners of Intra-Class Quiz Competition

Veer Surendra Sai. A speech on Netaji’s life and works was delivered by PrachiNayak

(VI) where as KanchanaNaik (V) spoke on the important contributions of Veer Surendra

Sai in the freedom struggle of India.

To add vivacity to this occasion, the Intra-Class Quiz Competition was conducted on this

auspicious day. The competition was conducted in two phases for the students of class-I

& II respectively. It was a right platform for the budding learners to showcase their

general awareness. The winners were felicitated with prizes and certificates. It was

appreciated by the parents who witnessed the contest.

67th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

January 26, 2016

Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus celebrated the 67th Republic Day in the School

premises with pomp and splendour. The head of the institution, Mr.L.N.Dash hoisted the

National Flag. The National Anthem was followed by a patriotic song by the school choir.

Speeches were delivered by children and an Odia patriotic poem was recited.

The Principal enlightened the audience going back to the history of the making of

constitution. The celebration then ended with the National Song.

Utkal Alumina Computer learning Centre, a CSR initiative was inaugurated by

Mr.VijaySapra, Unit Head & President, UAILDoragudain the School. This is a great effort

of CSR as a contribution towards the welfare of the society. The programme was

attended by Mr.RaghunathPratihari,Vice- President-HR,Mr.Rakesh Mishra , GM-Admin ,

and Mr.L.N.Padhi, the District coordinator of OKCL. The centre that will produce many

professionals in the coming year was appreciated by one and all.

SWACHH BHARAT-SWACHH VIDYALAYA

January 29, 2016

As per the notification dated 25th January, 2016 regarding Mass Pledge Campaign, we

the students, teachers and Principal of the school have taken the pledge. 437 students

and 24 teachers took the pledge in the morning assembly on 28th January, 2016

administered by the Principal Mr. L.N Dash.

To carry forward Gandhiji’s dream of clean India, we have also conducted Swachh

Bharat Activities. The school choir sang a melodious song on Swachhata. Furthermore, a

tableau was presented by the students in the morning assembly to sensitize the future

citizens of India regarding cleanliness practices.

To keep alive the spirit of cleanliness initiatives, a Swachhata Ambassador Committee

(SAC) was formed. TheCommittee was set up comprising five students namely

TankadharBairagi-VIII, PrachiNayak-VI, ArnavNishithKhandelwal-IV, the Head Boy

Santosh Kumar Naik-IX and Head Girl SuahaniKhandelwal-VIII. Two teachers,

Mr.Suryaranjan Mishra and Mr.DhirajMohanty were included in this Committee to guide

them.

In order to motivate the students and inculcate cleanliness habit among the students,

Good Habit Cards are regularly awarded to selective students.

It’s our endeavour to continue these activities so as to fulfil Gandhiji’s dream of neat and

clean India.

WORKSHOP ON “ENHANCING EFFECTIVENESS & IMPACT OF SCHOOLS”

February 6, 2016

A workshop on “Enhancing Effectiveness & Impact of Schools” was organized in the

Audio-Visual Hall of our school on 6th February, 2016 by the Principal Mr. L.N Dash. The

main objective was to empower and familiarise the teachers with latest tools and

techniques of teaching-learning process. Various aspects of pedagogy was discussed

keeping in mind the innovative methods of teaching linked with real life situations. It

was a meaningful learning session comprising activities, discussion, pair-work and

presentation.

SCHOOL NEWS IN BRIEF

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT-II Summative Assessment-II was held from 16th February

2016 to 4th March, 2016 for classes-III-VIII.

REMEDIAL CLASS FOR CLASSES-I-II Remedial classes were conducted for the students

of classes-I-II in the month of February, 2016.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION & SPECIAL MORNING ASSEMBLY A special morning assembly

was organized on 15th February,2016 and the winners of NSO, IMO, IEO, SZ-GK, and SZ-

HINDI were felicitated with medals, certificates and cash prizes by the Principal Mr. L.N

Dash.

YOGA & SPORTS CAMP A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. The students of

classes- III-VIII were encouraged to participate in a Yoga and Sports Camp organized at

our school from 5th March to 16th March, 2016.

ACCOLADES IN OLYMPIAD Five students of the school added feathers to our cap by

receiving the gold medals in the International English Olympiad(IEO), January, 2016.

SAFETY WEEK CELEBRATION Safety Week was celebrated in collaboration with the

Safety Department, UAIL Doraguda. To sensitize the budding learners about safety in

every walk of life, different competitions comprising of art, drawing, poster making,

slogan writing, essay writing and speech were conducted on 9th March, 2016.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATED

June 21, 2016

International Yoga Day was celebrated in the school on 21st June 2016. A special

morning assembly was organized to add vivacity to this occasion. Mr.Suryaranjan

Mishra, PET enlightened the gathering about the origin, practice, benefits and different

aspects of yoga. There was beautiful yoga demonstration by the students.

WORLD MUSIC DAY CELEBRATED

June 22, 2016

World Music Day was celebrated on 22nd June, 2016, a day after its observation. The

school choir group along with the budding musicians charged the morning assembly

with a melodious song. HemanginiNaik of class-IX delivered an informative speech on

the importance of this day.

A MOVIE SHOW ON SWAMI CHINMAYANANDA

July 04, 2016

The movie “On a Quest” on one of the world’s renowned and revered exponents of

Vedanta, the foundation of Hindu religion and culture, was shown to the students of

Classes-VI to X in the Audio-visual Hall of our school on 4th July, 2016. The film which

depicts the life story of an unconventional seeker- a mischievous child, a rebellious

youth, a revolutionary freedom fighter, a witty journalist and even a daring atheist

touched the young children enormously. The children were able to know who he was

before he became the great Swami Chinmayananda. It also gave insight to them how this

passionate, witty, outspoken freedom fighter and atheist turned into an enlightened

master- Swami Chinmayananda. Each one of the students watched the movie with

excitement. When asked to a student, at end of the show, D.S RutupurnaNaik of class-VII

said, “I was very much overwhelmed by the life journey of this great man.”

“The movie is emotionally moving and it teaches me a great lesson of life,” says another

student Nikhil Kumar Majhi of class-X. The film was stupendous and everyone had an

overwhelming experience watching it.

VISIT OF DR. MANOJ KUMAR GUPTA, PRINCIPAL, ABPS, GULBARGA

July 13, 2016

Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, Principal, ABPS Gulbarga visited our school on 13th July 2016.

He interacted with the students, parents and teachers separately in separate sessions.

Different issues like schooling, studentship, parenting and pedagogy were discussed.

After having interacted with the students and parents, he enlightened the teachers and

shared some valuable points out of his abundant experience.

INTER-HOUSE ENGLISH CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION

July 16, 22016

The Inter-House English Calligraphy Competition was conducted on 16th July, 2016.

Students from all the groups i.e. classes-III to X took part in this competition who have a

flair for writing. The best ones in each group were selected and the winners were

felicitated with prizes and certificates in the Morning assembly by the Principal Mr. L.N

Dash.

A TRIBUTE TO DR. APJ ABDUL KALAM

July 27, 2016 “Determination is the power that sees us through all our frustrations and obstacles. It helps in building our willpower which is the very basis of success.” - Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam The People’s President and Missile Man of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was honoured and remembered on his first death anniversary on 27th July 2016. A special morning assembly was organized on this day. The Principal, teachers and students paid homage to the great soul India has ever produced. His Oath for the students was administered to the students by the Principal Mr. L.N Dash.

INTRA-CLASS ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION July 29, 2016

An Intra-Class English Rhyme Recitation Competition was conducted in our school on 29th July, 2016. The humming birds of Play Class to UKG recited rhymes enthusiastically. The winners were rewarded with prizes and certificates. However, the presentation of each participant was praiseworthy.

OPEN DAY

July 30, 2016

There was a fruitful interaction with the parents of Play Class to X on 30th July, 2016. Different issues on teaching, learning and parenting were discussed on this day. The parents were thrown light that education is a tri-polar process in which the teacher, parents and pupils are involved. The parents and teachers discussed many points for the all-round development of the students.

SCHOOL MANAGEMENT COMMITTE MEETING August 03, 2016

The first School Management Committee Meeting of the session was held on 3rd August,

2016 in the conference hall, UAIL, Doraguda. The purpose of the meeting was to

improve the quality of education in the school. The newly formed Committee Members

introduced themselves and the requirement of the School Managing Committee as per

the CBSE guidelines was briefed by the Principal, Mr. L.N Dash. The Chairman of the

committee, Mr. N. Nagesh, Unit Head and President, UAIL, Doraguda, stressed upon

quality education and all-round development of the school. Different aspects of school

processes were discussed such as: transport facility, child safety, academics, evaluation

system, extra-curricular activities, proper maintenance of toilets, parent communication

and school timing.

INTER-HOUSE HINDI CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION

August 06, 2016 Writing plays an important role in determining the personality of a person. Children need to be trained from the very tender age how they can write beautifully with their free hands. In order to motivate the children to write beautifully and legibly, the Inter-House English Calligraphy Competition was organized on 6thAugust 2016. All the students from classes I to X had participated in it. The winners from each group were awarded with prizes and certificates and the selected pieces of writing were displayed in the school display board.

SNAKE AWARENESS PROGRAMME

August 09, 2016

Co-ordinated by the Safety Department, UAIL, Doraguda, a snake awareness programme was organized at our school on 9th August, 2016. Mr. SubhenduMallik, the honorary wildlife Warden of Khurda district and founder of snakehelpline.com enlightened the students regarding varied species of venomous and non-venomous snakes and also the precautions against snake bites. He shared valuable pieces of information on these reptiles to the young minds which would be indispensable in their life. He also showed his pet python to the students.

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT-II

August 08, 2016 to August 17, 2016

Formative Assessment-II (III-X) was conducted successfully. It started on 6th Augustand continued till17th August, 2016. The second cycle of the assessment was completed.

INTRA-CLASS ENGLISH STORYTELLING COMPETITION

August 13, 2016 An Intra-Class English Storytelling Competition was conducted on 13th August, 2016. The enthusiastic competitors of Classes-I& II displayed their unfathomable talent. All the participants told the stories elegantly. They were adjudged on basis of content, confidence, fluency and accuracy. Winners were felicitated with prizes and certificates as token appreciation.

PORTRAYING THE SIPRIT OF PATRIOTISM IN THE MORNING ASSEMBLY

August 13, 2016

A special morning assembly was conducted by the Pre-Primary Wing on 13th August, 2016 portraying the theme of patriotism. The budding learners presented a dance performance replete with the sense of brotherhood.

70thINDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

August 15, 2016 ‘’At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the World sleeps, India will awake to life and

freedom. A moment comes but rarely in history………………’’

-Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

To pay homage to the countless freedom fighters and spread the fragrance of freedom,

the 70th Independence Day was celebrated at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus.

Mr.Laxminarayan Dash, the Principal of the School, unfurled the tricolour and the

National Anthem followed.

The birth day of Sri AurobindoGhose – the poet, freedom fighter, yogi, guru and

philosopher was also celebrated on this euphoricday.To keep alive the flame of freedom,

the school choir Group sang a melodious patriotic song.

Master Santosh Kumar Naik-X recited a patriotic poem marvelling the beauty and

bounty of mother India where as Master VineetDubey-VI delivered a speech on Sri

AurobindoGhose.

Mr L.NDash, the Principal of the school, addressed the gathering with his valuable

message. He reminded the sacrifices of innumerable freedom fighters which made us

where we are today.He wished for peace, pleasure and prosperity of each and every

citizen of our country.

The programme at the school was completed with the National song of

India‘VandeMataram’.

Soon after the programme at school, the students were taken to the helipad ground,

UAIL Campus. The budding learners presented a series of dance performance

delineating the sublime India, ‘Unity in Diversities’ and their spirit of patriotism.

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT-I

September 02, 2016 to September 20, 2016 Summative Assessment-I for Classes-III to VIII was completed successfully. It started on 2nd September and continued till 20th September, 2016.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

September 03, 2016

Teacher’s Day was celebrated on 3rd September, 2016 at our school in advance. Mr. L.N Dash, Principal of the school, along with the Head Boy, Head Girl and other teachers offered flower petals on the portraits of Dr.SarvepalliRadhakrishnan- the renowned teacher India has ever produced. In his address to the students and teachers, Mr. Dash spoke on the essence of the noble profession of teaching. The teachers were provided with a sumptuous lunch by the management.

INTER-ABPS QUIZ COMPETITION September 06, 2016

Our school stood at the 12th position in the preliminary round of Inter- ABPS Quiz Competition hoisted by ABPS, Veraval. Before this a screening round was conducted at our school level. Miss. Seetal Jhansi-IX and Miss. Neha Pandey- VIII had been shortlisted to compete in the preliminary round on 6th September, 2016.

INTRA-CLASS HINDI RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION September 09, 2016

An Intra-Class Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition was conducted for Play Class to UKG on 9th September, 2016. The young and enthusiastic participants recited rhymes in our national language beautifully. The performance of each participant was appreciated by a panel of judges. However, the best performers were awarded with prizes and certificates.

FRUIT PARTY

September 16, 2016 There is an ancient adage that ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ In fact it is true when we are so careful of our food selection. In order to sensitize the budding learners regarding healthy eating habit and balanced diet ‘Fruit Day’ was celebrated on 16th September, 2016. Pupils from Play Class to UKG brought different kinds of fruits to school. With the help of the teachers they sliced the fruits and decorated beautifully. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the kids learnt different colours, shapes and art work.

CLASSES ON MARTIAL ART

As per the CBSE guidelines on teaching the girl students the art of self-defence, classes on martial arts are being conducted at our school weekly three days in the evening. In collaboration with the District Martial Arts Association, Rayagada which is affiliated to Taekwondo Association of Odisha, our school conducts classes in martial arts. Mr. Sunder Samal trains 27 of our students the art of self-defence and to boost self-confidence.

INTRA-CLASS HINDI STORYTELLING COMPETITION September 24, 2016

An Intra-Class Hindi Storytelling Competition was conducted on 24th September, 2016. Participants from classes-I & II told their stories fluently. It was our motto to bring some new faces on stage to develop their public speaking skills. Surprisingly, these children marvelled in the competition. The winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes.

GANDHI & SHASTRI JAYANTI CELEBRATED

October 02, 2016

Gandhi and ShastriJayantiwas celebrated at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus on

2nd October, 2016. Mr. N. Nagesh, Unit Head & President, UAIL Doraguda had kindly

consented to be the Chief Guest of the occasion and garlanded the portraits of

Gandhiji&Shastriji the two eminent souls of India.

Other dignitaries from UAIL Mrs. N. Laxmi, President Utkalina Ladies Club, Mr.

Raghunath Pratihari, VP-HR, Mr. Rakesh Mishra, Sr. Manager, Admin, Mr. T. Prakash, Sr.

Manager-HR, UAIL employees, Mr. L.N Dash, Principal, teachers, parents and students

were present to make this day vivacious and carry forward Gandhji’s dream of clean

India.

Mr. Nagesh spoke on the importance of cleanliness in our daily life. He said how the

habit of cleanliness can begin with home. He emphasized to think globally but act

locally. We can envisage a clean India only when each one of us contribute for the same.

Mr. L.N Dash extended hearty welcome to the gathering and spoke on the ideologies and

principles of Gandhiji&Shastriji. He appealed everyone to take part in cleanliness drive

practically.

Mr. Raghunath Pratihari delineated how Gandhiji was globally acclaimed. He motivated

the students to read Gandhian philosophy and his magnum opus ‘My Experiment with

Truth’ which would be a great source of inspiration for them.

Soon after this everyone moved toward the playground to keep it clean. Furthermore, to

bring awareness in the surrounding, a rally was followed by it. Students holding

placards moved around Nuapada. The entire surrounding was vibrated with Swachhta

slogans chanted by the students. The streets and roads were cleaned. Having

experienced the essence of cleanliness, the students left home after sweet distribution.

SCHOOL EXHIBITION

October 05, 2016

With an endeavour to ingrain a scientific, creative and innovative attitude in the young

minds an exhibition was organised in Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus on 5th

October, 2016. Students from class-I to X put up an array of exhibits in science, social

science, mathematics, art, best out of waste and English language in different

classrooms of the school.

Mr. N. Nagesh, Unit Head & President, UAIL Doraguda, inaugurated the exhibition. He

was escorted by Mr. L.N Dash, Principal of the school to the rooms spotted with exhibits.

He witnessed each exhibit and applauded the participants for their novel ideas which

would make the world a better place to live in.

The enthusiasm and skill imbibed with razor-sharp knowledge of Physics, Chemistry,

Biology and Mathematics of the budding learners at school level was commendable.

Their research projects clearly indicate that they have the innate talent to become the

noted scientists and mathematicians of the future generation.

The exhibits included still models, working models and research base projects which

were very innovative and relevant to today's times. There was also a work experience

exhibition which saw many students making useful items from waste at home. It makes

them understand the 3Rs i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The ancient civilisation is revisited in the Social Science department. Different models

portraying the rich cultural heritage of India, geographical and natural phenomena,

numismatics, monuments and world heritage sites were appreciated by the visitors.

It is noteworthy that the Art & Craft Department had unique art works to exhibit.

A few students of Class-IX & X tried their efforts to showcase the use of technology in

language learning. They proved that technology is indispensable for language learning

in today’s fast changing and advancing world. They demonstrated that we can learn

accent, rhythm and intonation well by using language lab.

Parents and UAIL employees swarmed the school to witness these wonderful exhibits.

The exhibition was appreciated by one and all.

SCHOOL MANAGING COMMITTEE MEETING

October 22, 2016

The second meeting of School Managing Committee was held on 22nd October, 2016 in

the conference hall of UAIL, Doraguda to discuss different aspects of the school

processes.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK CELEBRATED

4th November, 2016

With regard to the CBSE’s Circular No: Acad-42/2016, 17th October, 2016, ‘Vigilance

Awareness Week’ was observed at our school from 31st October, 2016 to 5th November,

2016. A special morning assembly was conducted on 4th November, 2016 to encourage

the future citizens to fight against corruption.

To sensitize the children that bribery is a sin in both the ends-one who gives and one

who takes, a skit entitled ‘Honest Ever Corrupted Never’ was presented by the

students. At the end, some students raised placards and chanted slogans against

corruption.

TejaswiniSasmal of class-X spoke eloquently on the given theme ‘Public Participation in

Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption’. As it was suggested ‘Citizens Integrity

Pledge’ was taken by the students in the assembly administered by the Principal Mr. L.N

Dash.

It is a fruitful initiative by the board to spread the message of good governance and

citizen’s right to build a corruption free society so as to ensure peace, pleasure and

prosperity of the nation.

RASHTRIYA EKTA SAPATH

November 07, 2016

As suggested by the CBSE vide Notification No. Acad.-43/2016 dated 28th October 2016, RashtriyaEktaSapath was observed from 31st October, 2016 to 3rd November, 2016 at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus. To commemorate the achievements and contributions of SardarVallabhbhai Patel- the Iron Man of India, a rally was organized on 31st October 2016. All the students and teachers took part in this “Run For Unity” set in Nuapada Township early in the morning. The surrounding was vibrated with the chanting of slogans by the students on Sardar Patel and his message of unity

and integrity. The placards in their hands clearly showed how great Sardar Patel was in building our nation. In addition to this a special morning assembly wasorganised on 2nd November, 2016 on this given theme. It included speech by the students on and a role-play of Sardar Patel. Mr. L.N Dash, the Principal of the school addressed the gathering and outlined the remarkable contributions made by the Iron Man of India.

SCHOOL MANAGING COMMITTEE MEETING

November 09, 2016

The School Managing Committee Meeting was held for the third time in the session in

the conference hall of UAIL, Doraguda on 8th November, 2016 to reschedule the school

timing.

NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY CELEBRATED

In pursuance of the instructions of the CBSE vide Circular No : Acad-44/2016 dated 3rd

November, 2016, National Education Day was observed at Aditya Birla Public School,

UAIL Campus on 11th November, 2016 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the

first Education Minister of India MaulanaAbulKalam Azad who had a great contribution

to the cause of education in India.

As education is the birth right of every individual and it has a greater role in building

our nation as well, Prithviraj Sonawane of Class-VIII delivered an eloquent speech in the

morning assembly on the life, works and achievement of the first education minister of

India. Mr. L.N. Dash, Principal of the school addressed the gathering highlighting the

importance of education in our life.

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATED

November 14, 2016

Children’s Day was celebrated at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus with pomp

and pleasure. An array of programmes was organized to entertain the students.

The day began with the special morning assembly. Mr. L.N Dash, the Principal of the

school, along with the Head Boy, Head Girl, and teachers garlanded on the portraits of

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and AdityaVikram Birla, the two eminent persons India has

ever produced. A marvellous musical concert by the students added splendour to this

occasion. Speech by the students on AdityaVikram Birla and a Quiz contest on Chacha

Nehru gave extra information to the students to make this day meaningful.

A fancy dress competition was organized for the pre-primary students. The sweet little

angels with their colourful dresses and innocent smiles added vivacity to this occasion.

To bring joy in the life of the future citizens of our country, some sports activities were also organised. It is noteworthy that the Inter-House Quiz Competition was praised by one and all. The

competition was organized for the students of classes-III-X in three groups in three

different sessions. AdyashaktiMohapatra –III and ArdhenduAcharya-III from Arun

House won the first position whereas Devashree Mishra-IV and AyushPallai-IV from

Ravi House secured the runners- up position in Group-B.

Dash-V and RityanMisra-V from Martand House bagged the runners-up position in

Group-C.

Nikhil Kumar Majhi-X and Seetal Jhansi-IX made Ravi House proud by securing the first

position whereas Santosh Kumar Naik-X and Neha Pandey-VIII from Arun House bagged

the second position in Group-D.

Arpita Dash, AdarshPandey and Nikhil Kumar Majhi were the super quizzers in their

respective groups.

The winners were felicitated with prizes and certificates as tokens of appreciation.

Annual Function Celebrated with Pomp & Pleasure

December 23, 2016

Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus celebrated its majestic and magnificent Annual Function on 23rd December, 2016. Mr. N. Nagesh, Unit Head & President, UAIL, Doraguda was the Chief Guest of this phenomenal occasion. After the floral welcome to the guests, the programme commenced with the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest. It was followed by AdityaVandana-the corporate anthem of Aditya Birla Group which extols the greatness of the sun and its never-ending journey towards excellence. The school choir sang a melodious welcome song. The annual report which highlighted the achievements of the school was presented by the Principal of the school, Mr. L.N Dash. Meritorious students of Olympiads, CBSE Expression series, Inter-House & Intra –Class competitions and students securing 100% attendance were felicitated with trophies and certificates by the Chief Guest. It was a feast for the ears when the School Orchestra Team presented a splendid musical concert. It was followed by a group of children displaying ‘Karate- the art of self-defence’. A drama depicting the glimpses of the history of Odisha was staged by the senior students. The cultural extravaganza comprised of dances by the junior children, internationally acclaimed Odissi dance, Dhimsa-the tribal dance form of Koraput and modern dance.

Intra-Class Quiz Competition January12, 2017

An Intra-Class Quiz Competition was organized for Classes-I & II on 12th January, 2017 in two Groups. The keen learners answered the questions enthusiastically on various topics like general knowledge, current affairs and general awareness. The winners were awarded with certificates and prizes by the Principal Mr. L.N Dash.

68th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

January 26, 2017

Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus celebrated the 68th Republic Day in the School

premises with pomp and splendour. The head of the institution, Mr.L.N Dash hoisted the

National Flag. The National Anthem followed. Speeches were delivered by students and

teachers.

The Principal enlightened the audience going back to the history of the making of

constitution. The celebration then ended with the National Song.

Soon after the function at the school, the students were escorted to Helipad ground,

UAIL Campus. Some students displayed March Past beautifully. Master SamaySarthak

Swain-V and Miss Dharitri Raj-VI were selected as the best turn-outs in the boys and

girls category respectively and awarded by the Unit Head & President Mr. N.Nagesh,

UAIL Doraguda. The cultural programme comprising song and dance added patriotic

fervour to the occasion.

Farewell Party for Class-X Students at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus

February 17, 2017

The senior students of Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus bid adieu to the

outgoing Class-X students on 17th February, 2017. The day was devoted to the students

of the first outgoing batch of class-X to mark as a reminiscence of the unforgettable

moments.

Mr. N. Nagesh, Unit Head & President, UAIL, Doraguda was the chief guest of the

pompous occasion. In his message to the students, Mr.Nagesh said emphatically to be

determined enough to face the challenges of life.

The Principal of the school, Mr. L.N Dash, briefed about the journey of the school since

its inception in July 2011. He wholeheartedly thanked the school management for their

unstinted support in every aspect to bring out the school what it is today.

Mr.RaghunathPratihari, HR Head, UAIL Doraguda applauded the students for their all-

round development.

Other dignitaries of UAIL, Doraguda, Ms. N. Shree Laxmi, President, Utkalina ladies club,

Mr.Sabdendu Mohan, VP- Process, Mr. A. Ananth, VP- , Mr.Rakesh Mishra, GM-Admin

and Mr. T.M Prakash, Sr. GM, UAIL were also present.

Miss. AnuradhaPanigrahi, a student of class-X, was the special invitee who made the

audience spellbound with her melodious song.

The students of class-X were quite nostalgic and expressed each of their feeling in

association with the teachers and their friends. They promised to shine in their future

endeavours and keep the name of the school at a greater height.

The cultural programmes comprising song, dance, musical concert, fun game and

comedy show by the students rocked the ambience and enthralled the audience.

The outgoing students were presented with mementos by the Chief Guest as tokens of

remembrance.

The evening filled with fun and frolics and nostalgia as well must be remembered and it

will leave an indelible imprint in the minds and hearts of each one present.

UTKAL DIVAS CELEBRATION & ART EXHIBITION

April 01, 2017

To commemorate the formation of the state as a separate province on 1 April 1936,

Utkal Divas was celebrated at Aditya Birla Public School, UAIL Campus on 1st April,

2017. The eminent souls of OdishaUtkalaGauravMadhusudan Das,

UtkalamaniGopabandhu Das, Maharaja ShriRamachandraBhanjadeo, Maharaja

ShriKrushna Chandra Gajapati, Raja BaikunthanathDey, Fakir Mohan Senapati,

GangadharMeher, and Gourishankar Ray, whose remarkable contributions gave Odisha

the stature and status of a separate linguistic state, were remembered and honoured on

this auspicious day.

A special morning assembly was organized to add vivacity to this occasion. The school

choir, accompanied by the SUR TAAL TEAM, sang the melodious song

‘VandeUtkalaJanani’. Quiz and speech on the glory of Odisha were also included.

Mr. L.N Dash, the Principal of the school, on behalf of the Utkal Alumina Management,

extended hearty greetings to the students and teachers. He outlined the historical

significance of this day.

To glorify the scenic, serene and sublime Odisha, an ‘Art Exhibition’ was organized. It

was inaugurated byMs.DipaliMohan- Treasurer, Utkalina Ladies Club and

Mr.RakeshMishra, GM, Admin, CSR & L&L. The students and teachers exhibited beautiful

and catchy paintings and art works.

An Art & Painting Competition on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ was also organised for

the students of Classes-III to X.

FIRE SAFTEY WEEK CELEBRATION

2017 to 20th April, 2017 to sensitize

the young minds about fire safety and

its prevention.

The Security & Fire Services

Department, UAIL Doraguda,

conducted a fire demonstration

programme on 17th April, 2017.

Mr. SapanChakrabarty, Ex- Deputy Fire

Officer enlightened the students using

the fire triangle of heat, fuel and

oxygen, about how fire is caused, the

four types of fire and ways in which

they can prevent fires. His address was

not only enjoyable but also

informative.

Based on the information shared, some questions were asked in the form of a quiz. The

student participants answered them

enthusiastically. They were also

rewarded with prizes as tokens of

motivation.
