G.H.G. Institute of law for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana was established with purpose tocater the needs of the most pivotal section of the society, the women folk. The foundation stoneof the institute was laid down by the Padam Bhushan Prof. Dr. Khem Singh Gill , former vice-chancellor Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana on 19th December,2005.This Institution isaffiliated to Panjab University Chandigarh and approved by the Bar council of India , NewDelhi.

It started to impart legal education to girl students for LL.B. Three years course and B.A.LL.B(Hons.) five years integrated course from the session 2006-07. College is only rural women's lawcollege in state of Punjab, Which imparts value based, job oriented and quality legal education.

The 15th session of institute of law was started on 20th July, 2019. The new students werewelcomed by our worthy principal Dr.S.K. Nayak. The new session began with path – ceremonyon 6th August, 2019 in Gurudwara sahib at college campus to take the blessings of almightyGOD for good career & bright Future of students as well as progress of institute of law. NewStudents were welcomed by the college authorities.

The students of law Institute indeed make us feel proud by giving 100% result in Universityexaminations every year

Recent amenities in infrastructure include installation of 13 CCTV cameras in college &transportation including one LED, one overhead projector. A multipurpose hall has beenconstructed and well equipped with newly acquired furniture. The college canteen was alsorenovated and constructed.

On 5th September, 2019 the institute celebrated teacher's day. The function was inaugurated byremembering the renowned teachers and literate and former president of India Bharat Ratana Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The students delivered speeches and showed their potential in thetalent hunt on this day.

Sidhwan group of institute of celebrated founder’s day on 26th October, 2019 in the memory ofour great bhai sahib Narayan singh Ji, Bibi Ram Kaur Ji, Bibi Harparkash Kaur ji & Bibi AttarKaur ji . The bhog of shri Akhand path sahib was held to give tribute to our great founders. Bookexhibition was held outside the guru Nanak bhawan.

As per the earlier said that G.H.G. institute of law for women , Sidhwan Khurd (Ludhiana )remains ready to enhance the professional potential of the teachers to serve this purpose Instituteof law organized an Extension lecture in which Prof. Davinder Singh , Department of laws,Panjab University , Chandigarh visited to our institute on the dated of 25th September , 2019. Hehas given a lecture on topic of Salient Features of the Constitution of India with SpecialReference to Article – 370 to serve the purpose of extension lecture.

As per the earlier said that G.H.G. institute of law for women , Sidhwan Khurd (Ludhiana )remains ready to enhance the professional potential of the teachers to serve this purpose Instituteof law organized a Faculty Development Programme in which Prof. Davinder Singh ,Department of laws, Panjab University , Chandigarh visited to our institute on the dated of 25th

September, 2019. He has given a lecture on topic of “Empowering of Faculties in RuralEducational institutions”.

All India Moral Education Examination -2019 was conducted on 14-10-2019 in which ourstudents Jasdeep kaur and Amanpreet kaur have got the positions.

International yoga day is observed on 21st June every year to spread awareness about theimportance and effects of the yoga on the health of the people. Amanpreet Kaur of the LL.B ofthe 2nd semester participated in the National level online yoga competitions organized byMinistry of AYUSH Govt. of India and Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, Haryana.

In our college the students have ample scope to specialize professionally as practicing advocate.We send our students to renowned advocate of District bar association Ludhiana for practicaltraining. Students do attend the mega lok sabha adalats from time to time. Some to them aremember of legal aid clinic. Our students also participated in state level as well as national levelmoot court competitions’.

Parents–Teacher meeting was held on 31-01-2020 to make it more transparent institute and letthem know the progress of their children .In this meeting Manager S. Hardeep Singh Sur andPrincipal Dr. S.K. Nayak were directly interacted with the parents. With the mutual collaborationof all teachers it has proved a successful Enclave.

On 17th February, 2020 Annual sports day was organized jointly by four institutions. The SikhGirls high school, Khalsa College for women, G.H.G. Harparkash College of education forwomen, G.H.G. institute of law for women.

S. Partap Singh Bajwa (member of Rajya Sabha) was invited as chief guest to inspire thestudents and to give prizes to the winners. All the institutes have shown their excellence inMarch Past and other sports activities.

International women’s day (march-8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, politicaland cultural achievements of women .international women’s day is a collective day of acelebration and a call for gender parity.

G.H.G. institute of law for women, Sidhwan khurd (LDH) celebrated the women’s day (11thmarch). Dr. Neeru Katyal (PCS) was invited as a chief guest. She expressed the views regarding

the women empowerment and also shared her struggle to get success which was source ofinspiration for all the students.

Our college conducted mid semester examination at the end of semester for better preparation ofPanjab University Examination .In these exams the law students got first three positionsaccording to their performance.

College library has all sort of law books , journals , reference ,books , all India reporters ,supreme court cases , criminal law journals and the manupatra also available in the librarywhich is helpful to give knowledge to the students to solve the moot problems . College libraryhas variety of computers and internet facility to provide academic help to the students.
