Problems facing by the societies (Successful):

Boundation of selling of seed in other district of M.P.

Lack of availability of breeder / foundation seed from ICAR, SAUs and Beej Nigam timely.

Lack of technical know-how.

Lack of availability of the breeder / foundation seed on the basis of the demand of the society member.

Lack of support from seed certification agency.

Problems facing by the societies (Unsuccessful):

Lack of interest of society members,

Lack of coordination among the members of the society,

Dominating nature of some members of the society,

Lack of credit facilities,

Lack of faith among the members,

Distribution of profit is also an issue.

Conclusion: Seed societies are working well and providing seed to the farmers in the district but these are not fulfilling the desired seed requirement

of the farmers. These societies are facing some problems like lack of availability of breeder / foundation seed etc. It is required to overcome the

problems of the societies so that they can work efficiently.

2.5 Feedback from KVK to Research System

Name of KVK Feedback

Indore Among the 3 technologies assessed (Raised Bed, BBF and Ridge Furrow), Raised bed technique was found better.

Indore Raised bed sowing method for Chick Pea is very good for farmers but the cost of Raised bed seed drill is very high and easy availability is also a problem.

Indore Power weeder worked effectively for soybean

Indore Wheat variety Pusa Mangal is found high yielding in the cropping system of the district.

Indore Chickpea variety KRIPA (Phule G 0517) is found high yielding & wilt resistant.

Indore It is very effective in management of white fly in soybean

Indore With the feeding of Saccharomyces cerevesiae in goats increase in body weight were observed due to better feed conversion ratio

Indore It is observed that there is increase in milk production per day due to feeding of Ca, P and VitD

Indore Due to additional feeding of bypass fat 100 g per day per animal there is increase in milk yield and good body weight.

Indore INM in marigold helped in increasing size, shape, color and shine in flowers.

Indore G-50 cultivar is found to be whitish fetches good price but found longer duration. Farmers require early due to insufficient irrigation facility in late March.

Indore Use of potash is beneficial for boldness & luster of grains.

Indore Use of liquid bio-fertilizer and Ammonium Molybdate in chickpea is very beneficial practice.

Indore Use of pro super bag prevents insect pest and enhance storage life.

Indore Potato Peeler and Potato Slicer is useful for drudgery reduction in chip making

Indore Aonla is richest source of vit. C and value addition in it also increase extra income

4.2. Feedback from KVK to Research System.

Name of

KVK

Feedback basic of OFT on Technology Tested

Indore (Use of pro biotics (Saccharomyces cerevesiae) in cross breed cow to manage acidiosis and anorexia is useful.) : Milk production (lit/day)

increased & appetite is also improved.

Indore (Use of biofertilizer and Micronutrient (Fe, Bo and Zn) in Chrysanthemum) : By use of biofertilizers and micronutrient quality of flower including

luster and size increased. consequently rate of product was found higher in comparison to local variety

Indore (Use of source of nitrogen fertilizer and their time of application in Garlic) : Reaper cum binder for wheat harvesting is found suitable, but the cost

of the machine is high for small and medium farmers.

Indore (Use of raised bed sowing technique for soybean) : Sowing of soybean in raised bed system is appreciated by the farmers, but the availability of

the machine and operations of Kulfa (for weeding) are the major issues.

Indore (Use of Rotavator for field preparation for garlic) : Use of Rotavator for field preparation of garlic crop is appreciated by the farmers.

Indore (Use of Reaper cum binder for harvesting of wheat) : Implement is very useful but the high cost of the machine is the major constraint.

Indore (Use of Bentonite Sulphur in soybean) : Use of Bentonite Sulphur in the deficient soil gives good response in the yield of soybean but farmers

awareness regarding bentonite sulphur is low.

Indore (Use of Zinc Sulphate as micronutrient source in wheat crop ) : Use of Zinc Sulphate in the deficient soil gives good response in the yield of

wheat but farmers' awareness about deficiency of zinc sulphat in soil is a constraint.

Indore (Improved wheat variety RVW 4106) : Farmers appreciated the variety and its production but availability of seed is a constraint.

Indore (Balance nutrition in soybean) : Farmers appreciated the practice but due to excess and continuous rainfall crop got damaged and hence farmer

received low yield.

Indore (Wilt resistant and improved variety of chickpea PKV 4) : bold seeded High yielding variety, wilt resistant With high yielding variety, more

branching compare to other variety.

Indore (Improved nursery management for income generation of farm women) : Seedlings from pro tray were healthy and uniform. Requirement of seeds

is 30% less. Women can grow the seedlings near their houses.

Annex - A

Water saving through Tap irrigation system

Farmers Name: Shri Sitaram Chouhan

Village: Mirzapur, The & Distt. Indore

Introduction:

Farmers of village Mirzapur are facing the problem of irrigation water and they get lower income. Mr.

Sitraram Chouhan was also facing the same problem and not getting enough production from Rabi crops

like Marigold and potato. Later he prepared a system of irrigation by his own efforts for irrigating marigold

and potato etc.

He purchased some HDPE pipe and plastic taps. He fixed taps on the pipe on 24 inch interval and used it

for irrigating potato.

KVK intervention:

KVK supported and provided technical knowledge to him.

Output:

After using this system he got a very good production of potato (180 q/ha) over the previous yield of

potato (150 q/ha) and got good quality of crop. He got 22% increased yield of potato and also saved 35-

40% of irrigation water. He saved time and labour also by using this method. He observed that this

irrigation system also helped to prevent soil erosion.

Impact:

After seeting the system of irrigation 6-7 farmers of this village and nearby village have started the same

practice at their own field.

Mr. Sitaram Chouhan (Mirzapur) at his Marigold Field.
