Lee DentithCEO and FounderNow Healthcare GroupLee Dentith is a serial entrepreneur with a mission to change the primary healthcare and current pharmacy model of the nation. He is the Founder and CEO of the Now Healthcare Group, Europe’s largest digital health business, based in Manchester.

In 2014 his attention was quickly alerted to the UK’s health service and issues within the NHS, after he was unable to gain an appointment with a GP for one of his sick children. Ever the problem solver, Lee started to think about a technological solution which could help alleviate the huge stress on the increasing population in the UK and work collaboratively with the NHS, GPs and health professionals to provide transformational changes to radicalise the present system.

He did his research and discovered that here in the UK there are 370 million GP appointments per year based on a population of approximately 60+ million and apparently on average 150 million of the appointments are outside three days wait, and 50 million of them appointments are outside one week wait. Lee decided to invest £1.7m of his own personal money to create a Skype style platform to eff ectively set up a way to speak to a GP. He then created his own fully NHS accredited and approved Pharmacy, which can dispatch medicines anywhere inside the UK and into Europe (under an ECEU directive) and in a matter of months, he created a world fi rst solution, where a patient could speak to a doctor live and the doctor can prescribe on the system and automate the fulfi lment of these prescriptions enabling delivery by courier within two hours from consult to treatment.

In 2017 he received £4million investment from MediCash and now has three products on the marketplace - Now GP (private solution), Now Healthcare (white-labelled private business app) and Now Patient (prescriptions and end-to-end solutions working within the NHS under contract).

Lee, who is a fi nancial contributor for the Prince’s Trust, aims to have 25 million users on his platforms and intends to have his artifi cially intelligent app (through a self-diagnosis scenario) completely up and running with 250 diff erent languages and dialects.

His aim for 2018 is to substantially grow the business, see the apps in use as in as many countries as possible and ultimately to be able to put a smile on peoples’ faces to know that when they need instant care, Now Healthcare Group can help them.

Simon Hooper Co-Founder & CEOHealth-Connected Ltd.

Simon Hooper is a co-founder of Health-Connected Ltd, the company behind RemindMeCare. He and his co-founder Etienne Abrahams are on a mission to bring tech to the care process, courtesy of their personal experience of the lack of person centered care tech resources available to them during their own families’ care journeys. At the core of everything they build is their belief that knowing the person and engaging in fun activities must be at the heart of any care process. And that today’s emerging technologies, if they adopt a person focused tech approach, can be the game changers that health care so badly needs. With deep experience of the start-up journey, from conception to crowd funding, incubators to accelerators, and with cross industry experience at innovative companies in publishing, marketing and sales, Simon brings commercial drive to bear on healthcare initiatives.
