Description: This course will offer students the opportunity to improve their speaking and reading ability in Italian. I will give students advance notice of the main conversation topic for each session so that students have the chance to do some preparation if they have time. The conversation topic for week 1 is “What I did during the summer break”. I will also like to give students the chance to improve their reading ability by studying short stories and other suitable reading material in Italian. The course is not suitable for beginners.

Description: Puppies to be 12 weeks to 24 weeks only. Bring a small mat, or blanket or towel: collar and lead (not an

extension one): treats (very small), toy, brush. The aim is to help the owner train their pup to walk without pulling, to

come when called and do various commands ie sit, stand, down, leave, shush.

Pup to be hungry, so no feeding before class for at least 3 hours. Training to be outside unless inclement then either in

Description: This is Westborough’s 60+ youth club open to all over 60’s, including U3A members. A weekly fee of £2.00 is payable after the first week’s attendance. There are normally about 50 people attending every week, but there is no limit on numbers. There is a Coffee Bar available for light lunches at a competitive price. You do not have to be a U3A member to join this group.

Description: This is a repeat of the Literature Revisited course offered 10 years ago so preference will be given to new applicants. Members of the group will need to read one of the six novels/plays selected prior to each meeting. Following the showing of a film of the literary work we will discuss, over tea and cake, how effectively (or not) the film adaptation captures the essential essence of the text.

Description We normally meet at the Nags Head in Scalby at 9.30 every second Friday to drive to the start of a walk. Sometimes we meet earlier so that we can catch an early train on the Middlesbrough/Whitby line so that we may head north and then walk back to the station where we have left the cars. We normally walk between 6 to 8 miles and we always reward ourselves with a good lunch before returning to Scarborough in the middle of the afternoon. Our group has remained very much the same people for the last few years and we limit our number to 10. From a weather point of view we change our itinerary sometimes if the weather is poor and cancel it altogether in really dreadful conditions. We normally start our walks in the middle or end of September and the last one tends to be early in the following April. Normally we have a celebration lunch together in December. We share motor expenses normally contributing between one and three pounds depending on distance driven.
