Goals for 2014
With the significant strides weve made during the past year we
understand that there ismuch more work to be done, significant
areas that require improvement and a more
proactive approach to HUD changes and overall HUD compliance,
particularly given thatDBHA was award the RAD.
Further, we understand the overall agency goals and objectives
must be comprehensivelydeveloped with the Board and staff. An
agency strategic planning session is being plannedin the near
future and will be fully developed prior to the commencement of our
next fiscalyear beginning October 2014.
However, we have identified a few recommended goals to undertake
during the next year.Following is a list of items that we plan to
focus on for the upcoming year:
Continuance with staff training
RAD Closing
Improve financial reporting process and budget controls Amend
Annual Plan to include RAD and conduct resident and public hearings
Purchase security cameras Amend Admissions and Continued Occupancy
Plan (ACOP) Amend By-Laws Amend HR, Accounting and Procurement
Policies Secure additional funds for improvements to the elderly
site Create and manage a viable non-profit for the implementation
of the RAD initiative
This first year working with the DBHA has been extremely
challenging and rewarding.Although we have made significant strides
and progress in many areas, there still
remains much to be done. By continuing to educate the community,
city officialsand residents, we will position ourselves to
revolutionize the way we administer low-and moderate income housing
in the city of Deerfield Beach.
