1. Overview

ANNOWorx provides utilities to annotate AutoCAD® PLANT 3D, AutoCAD Advance Steel, and CADWorx®PLANT.

Users can annotate pipe routes, equipment, equipment nozzles, and steel by placing ANNOWorx Tags. Thesetags can be applied in paper space or model space proving the ultimate flexibility for detail drawingproduction. Further, ANNOWorx Tags remains connected to the components, so if 3D Model properties changethen all the Tag values will sync with those changes. In this way, users place annotation once and they remainsynchronized with 3D models.

3.1. Line Configuration

Line Annotation is accomplished by setting a Current Format.Users select from the Available Fields window and then arrange their order within the Selected Fields window. The Current Format displayed under these windows is used by ANNOWorx when annotating pipe routes.

Optionally, the Line Annotation can be appended, or suffixed, with Insulation Annotations. Similarly, users selectfrom the Insulation Fields window and then arrange their order within the Selected Fields window.

Separators –Attributes –Coordinates –Line Number ParseCADWorx® and AutoCAD® PLANT 3D Line Numbers can be configured to contain numerous fields strungtogether with separators like spaces, hyphens, underscores, and alike. For example, [4?-BW-226-ACA] is can represent a typical Line Number. If users want to tag pipe routes as [BW-226], then they will use the Line Number Parse Section fields to set theCurrent Format. In this example, the Selected Fields must include the Sections and the separator.

Line Number Parse Section 2–Line Number Parse Section 3

Using the Left and Right Arrows, move from one window to the other.Using the Up and Down Arrows, position the Selected Fields for form the Current Format.Click the Ok button to save the Line Annotation configuration.

The Line Number Parse Sections 1-10 allow you to separate out the Line Number field for a component usinga – <Space> or _ as a delimiter. For example, Line Number = 4?-BW-226-ACA and you only want toannotate BW-226. First, set the Line Number Parsing Character to a – Then set your selected fields to:

Line Number Parse Section 2–Line Number Parse Section 3

We have conditional insulation annotation for components that are insulated. If you only want to show insulationdata for insulated components use the Append Selected Fields portion of the dialog as shown above.
