Deu 4:35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that
the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him. Deu 4:36 Out of
heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee:
and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his
words out of the midst of the fire. 1. Announcing the Law Exo 19:16
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there
were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and
the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people
that was in the camp trembled.
Slide 3
Deu 5:22 These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in
the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the
thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he
wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

It was Christ who, amid thunder and flame, had proclaimed the
law upon Mount Sinai. The glory of God, like devouring fire, rested
upon its summit, and the mountain quaked at the presence of the
Lord. The hosts of Israel, lying prostrate upon the earth, had
listened in awe to the sacred precepts of the law. What a contrast
to the scene upon the mount of the Beatitudes! Under the summer
sky, with no sound to break the stillness but the song of birds,
Jesus unfolded the principles of His kingdom. Yet He who spoke to
the people that day in accents of love, was opening to them the
principles of the law proclaimed upon Sinai. {MB 45.1} It was

1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they
drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was
Christ. Deu 33:1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man
of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. Deu 33:2
And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto
them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten
thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.
Deu 33:3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand:
and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy
words. Deu 33:4 Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of
the congregation of Jacob.

2. Announcing the fall of Babylon Dan 4:30 The king spake, and
said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of
the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my
majesty? Dan 4:31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there
fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it
is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. Dan 5:1 Belshazzar
the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank
wine before the thousand. Dan 5:2 Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the
wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his
father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in
Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his
concubines, might drink therein.
Slide 22
Dan 5:5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand,
and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the
wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand
that wrote. Dan 5:6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and
his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were
loosed, and his knees smote one against another. The fall of
typical Babylon guarantees the fall of antitypical Babylon Heb

saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also
heaven.

Rev 18:20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles
and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. Rev 18:21 And a
mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it
into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city
Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Co 15:22 For as in Adam
all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1Co 15:23 But
every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they
that are Christ's at his coming. 1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end,
when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the
Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and
power. 1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies
under his feet. 1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is
death.

Annunciation Luk 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel
was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, Luk 1:27
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house
of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luk 1:28 And the angel
came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured,
the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luk 1:29 And
when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her
mind what manner of salutation this should be. Luk 1:30 And the
angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour
with God.

Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and
bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. Luk 1:32 He shall
be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord
God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: Luk 1:33
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his
kingdom there shall be no end. Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a
son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his
people from their sins. JHWE the savior: John Wesley writes in his
notes: Mat 1:21 Jesus - That is, a Savior. It is the same name with
Joshua (who was a type of him) which properly signifies, The Lord,
Salvation. His people - Israel. And all the Israel of God.

Announcing His birth to the shepherds Luk 2:8 And there were in
the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over
their flock by night. Luk 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came
upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and
they were sore afraid.

Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I
bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a
Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luk 2:12 And this shall be a
sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger. Luk 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a
multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Luk 2:13

Luk 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good
will toward men. Luk 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were
gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another,
Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come
to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. Luk 2:16 And they
came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in
a manger. Luk 2:17 And when they had seen it, they made known
abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. Php

The baptism of Jesus Joh 1:32 And John bore witness, saying, "I
saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained
upon Him. Joh 1:33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to
baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the Spirit
descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the
Holy Spirit.' Joh 1:34 And I have seen and testified that this is
the Son of God." Joh 1:35 Again, the next day, John stood with two
of his disciples. Joh 1:36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he
said, "Behold the Lamb of God!"
Slide 32
No other prophet had ever had this privilege. Not an Isaiah nor
a Jeremiah. They could point to the future but John could point to
the man and testify with his mouth that this was the Lamb of God.
If we walk with Him and live in Him then we too can testify
firsthand that He is indeed the Lamb of God that has taken away our
sins and by His stripes we are healed.
Slide 33
3. At the baptism of Jesus Johns words were confirmed and a
voice was heard from heaven: Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven,
saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mar 1:11
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved
Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Slide 34
Luk 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a
dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art
my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.. This is the highest
sermon by the highest preacher in the universe. No sermon can be
higher and it is the summation of all sermons. To deny this sermon
is to disregard this highest of all authorities. The Holy Spirit is
present during the sermon and confirms the words thus spoken by
descending like a dove on Jesus. The angels are silent and
awestruck as they witness the scene
Slide 35
Who is this Father? Joh 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is
thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if
ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. Joh 14:8
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth
us. Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with
you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me
hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
I can neither see nor understand the Father except through Jesus.
Any religion that denies the Son denies the Father also. Whatever
is apart from Jesus, no matter how high or broad or noble or
eloquent, is also apart from the Father because the Father has said
that He wants to be seen and worshiped through the Son.
Slide 36
To reject Him is at the peril of ones soul. He will not force
Himself on any one and if he should turn away in sadness then the
consequences are dire. When the Pharisees rejected Him he said to
them: 1Co 3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that
which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. A house is not built from the
roof down. A house has to be built from the bottom up. If we ignore
the foundation we might as well ignore the house. It is imperative
that we acknowledge the Son before we can build the house.

Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi,
He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of
Man, am?" Mat 16:14 So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some
Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." Mat 16:15 He
said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Mat 16:16 Simon Peter
answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Mat 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon
Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My
Father who is in heaven. Mat 16:18 And I also say to you that you
are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates
of Hades shall not prevail against it.
