Announcement Exchange Program Application Process Academic Year 2020 - 2021 (August 2020 - May 2021) Students ID 61 1. Rationale and Reasons The Office of International Affairs (OIA) of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy and the BBA International Program (BBA) have established academic co-operations with well - known universities around the world. One direct benefit is the student exchange agreement which provides outstanding students an opportunity to study abroad in partner universities that best meet their long-term professional interests. According to Chulalongkorn’s regulations, students are required to pay tuition fees to Chulalongkorn Universities before leaving the country and are exempt from paying tuition fees to partner universities during the period of exchange. In addition, students will be able to transfer credits earned from partner universities to the Chulalongkorn University if they meet the criteria specified by the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University. 2. A current resume

A statement of purpose essay (Maximum one page describing your background, interest in the

university you chose, and your expectation of participation benefits)

A copy of passport with “Certified True Copy” and your signature

A copy of student ID card

A completed study plan and it must be approved and signed by the Exchange Coordinator

(BBA Office or OIA).

8. Credit Transfer and Regulations

According to Chulalongkorn University’s regulations, students are required to strict adherence to the following procedures:

Course registered at partner universities must be approved by the BBA Office or Office of

International Affairs (OIA) before going abroad. You are required to contact the BBA or OIA

for course equivalency/mapping process by sending a course description and syllabus. Justfor

the free elective courses only are not required for course mapping. Check here for the existed

Course Equivalency/Mapping.

Since a study plan can help students prepare course registration correctly before and after you

go abroad, it is a student responsibility to work on their own study plan. You are suggested to

prepare at least 3 study plans for making decision during an online exchange applications (3

rankings). This form must be approved and signed by the BBA Office or OIA in advance or

before you submit an application online. Form can be downloaded here Form Study Plan. The

sequence of courses selection should be based on course structure of your own batch. Check

here for Intake Manual & Course Structure.

The maximum number of credits can be transferred to Chulalongkorn University in one

semester is 22 or 7 courses. Mostly, one course from partner universities will be awarded 3

credits (US system). While ECTS is a European system and it must be 4 ECTS to be equal to

one Chulalongkorn 3 credit course.

Students need to receive a letter grade or a numeric grade only from partner universities. The

minimum letter grade “C” or any equivalent for each course is also required so that your credits

or courses can be transferred back to Chulalongkorn University. However, you will notreceive

letter grades on Chulalongkorn’s transcript but S/U instead: “S” (satisfactory) “U”

(unsatisfactory)

acceptable and credits/courses cannot be transferred at all. Since you will get S/U for the courses or

credits earned from partner universities on Chualongkorn’s transcript, calculation for GPA will not count.

To avoid any problem in the future, students are strongly suggested to read Credits Transfer

Regulations carefully.

Students are also responsible for rechecking the Grading System on our website as well as on

partner universities website for up-to-date information as there might be some changes about

grading system every semester. Or contact BBA or OIA if you have any questions or need

additional information. Misreading is unacceptable excuse.

According to the Head of Accounting Department’s suggestion, accounting major students who

aim to take the CPA examination in Thailand should not take the following courses abroad:

10. Selection Process

The BBA Committee and the Office of International Affairs will consider applicants and required

documents of each student application. A personal interview may also be required.

11. Evaluation Criteria

- TOEFL or IELTS scores 60 %

- GPAX 40 %

12. Online Application

Students can go to this link for an online exchange application:

Students are free to select up to three (3) universities and rank them by personal preference.

Student scores (based on GPAX and English result) will be used to determine priority in

university selection.

Students who fail to report and confirm participation after the final selection announcement

is made will forgo their exchange privileges of the semester.

13. Agreement on Exchange Application Process

Increasing quotas is impossible.

Grades and English scores are not flexible. Official scores and required documents must be submitted by the deadline.

Online application ranking will not be adjusted and replaced in case of the cancellation after application process.

14. Exchange Cancellation

Students withdrawing from the Exchange Program after being accepted will not be allowed to

participate in the future unless their reasons are judged genuine and compelling by BBA or the Office

of International Affairs.

15. Expenses

Students are responsible for all living expenses incurred during the exchange period, including food,

transportation and accommodations. Students must also pay tuition fees to Chulalongkorn

University before leaving the country.

16. Accommodations

Students must be responsible for securing their own accommodations, including on or off campus

arrangements. Host universities will normally provide valuable housing recommendations and

suggestions.

17. Visa

Before booking your travel to the destination country, you must apply for a visa and are responsible

for any costs occurred yourself. Students will be notified by email for the admission/ acceptance

package collection at the BBA Office or the OIA Office. We accept no responsibility for any delay

in visa processing or air ticket booking.

18. Post - Exchange Program Report

Each student is required to do a report upon returning to Chulalongkorn University. Information

from student report is used to help students interested in going to the same university in the future

as well as improve the overall management system for exchange program.

19. All application process will be considered and finalized by the Office of International Affairs (OIA)

of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy and the BBA International Program (BBA).
