2nd Announcement
Join the 1st Joint meeting of the Dutch and BelgianEnvironmental Mutagen Society
24 November at ‘Diergaarde Blijdorp’ in Rotterdam
Dear colleague,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the joint meeting of the Belgian and Dutch Environmental Mutagen Society.
New technologies and data‐mining in (geno)toxicology are rapidly emerging in the 21th Century. These assays provide us with ‘Big‐data’ on specific genes, pathways and molecular mechanisms. The question remains however how to interpret these data in the context of complex toxicological phenomena and multifactorial diseases. Hence, the handling of big data is partly based upon existing ‘classical’ toxicity endpoints.
The BEMS/DEMS 2016 meeting gathers academic, regulatory and industrial scientists. This year we especially invite young researchers in the field of product development, (bio)monitoring, medical and human/environment safety to present the latest output. During this meeting we will build a forum to discuss applied new techniques, share outcomes and provide support in the interpretation of the findings. We aim to connect traditional (eco)toxicological outcome and the data provided by newest technologies. Can we speak of a ‘paradigm shift’ in human and environmental sciences enhancing the way we cope with resources and outcome of today’s societal health and safety problems?
We look forward to welcoming you in Rotterdam!
