• Upon receipt of the application and on arrival of t he goods, the authorized officer inspects the goods, takes a sample of the p roduct and subjects it to an evaluation.
• Based on the results of the inspection, the authori zed officer determines whether the goods comply with the requirements of th e relevant Uganda Standard.
• The application form shall be filled in duplicate a nd submitted together with:(a) packing list; (b) transit customs document; (c) invoice;(d) Bill of Lading or Airway Bill; (e) any other document that may be required by the Bureau
(e.g., test certificate from country of origin)
• If the product complies with the requirements of th e relevant Uganda Standard, the authorised officer issues an import clearance c ertificate to the importer.
• The certificate is valid for that particular consig nment

8.4 Reference to certification and use of marks
8.4.1 A certification body shall have a policy gove rning any mark that it authorizes certified clients to use. This shall assure, among other things, traceability back to the certification body . There shall be no ambiguity, in the mark or accompanying text, as to what has beencertified and which certification body has granted the certification.
