Annex A to - REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS (REF) ASSOCIATED WITH THE SOUTH BOWENFEL’S SEWERAGE SCHEME.

Short Title - REF MATRIX

The description of the existing environment is presented in the form of a matrix where the basic reference document is:

1. drawing 1102133-31 & 32 (prepared by NSW PWD) – for the South Bowenfels rising main and gravity main,

2. drawing 1102133-61, 62, 63 & 64 (prepared by NSW PWD) – for the South Littleton rising main and gravity main,

3. table 3 (included below this page) – a detailed description of the (four components of the development) proposal,

4. table 4 & 5 (included below page 2) – a description of the existing environment and the likely impact of the development on the that environment, and finally

5. table 6 (included below page 3) – shows the steps that will be taken to protect that environment including sedimentation control.

This development will impact on the amenity of others at times during the construction period to the extent that noise and dust may be generated but overshadowing and traffic generation is not anticipated.

The length of the development is just under 4-kM so reference to any property along this route is best made by reference to the distance (chainages) shown on the drawings mentioned above. The origin of chainage is at the relevant pump station – South Bowenfels or South Littleton.

The covering matrix – the REF MATRIX – attempts to show the correlation between properties affected by the works at any chainage (see column 0 Pipeline Chainage. Column 1 Property Details. & Column 2 Ownership Details.) table 3, table 4 & 5 and table 6 below.

Table 6 Steps to be Taken to Protect the Environment including Sedimentation Control

Steps Mitigating actions

6.1 Sediment and Erosion Control

Take all steps necessary to protect the environment and in particular, comply with the requirements of this Section.

Comply with the relevant requirements of the following publications:- (i) Urban Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook (Department of Conservation and

Land Management);

(ii) Urban Erosion and Sediment Control Field Guide (Department of Land and Water Conservation);

Adopt such measures as may be necessary for erosion, contamination and sediment control, during construction, including the following, where applicable:-

(i) minimal vegetation and soil disturbance – restricted to the areas required for

construction and access;

(ii) progressive restoration of disturbed areas;

(iii) temporary drains;

(iv) temporary geotextile sediment fence and straw bales;

(v) spreader banks or other structures to disperse concentrated runoff;

(vi) construction and maintenance of silt traps to prevent the discharge of scoured

materials to downstream areas;

(vii) stockpiling waste materials away from waterways and barricaded by heavy bales or
