Annabelle’s Wigs

Hello and welcome to the first addition of Annabelle’s Wigs on-line magazine.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know a little bit about us.

We have been designing our own bespoke wigs for just over 3 years and have strived to make wigs that are beautiful, high fashion, classic, contemporary and glamorous. We want our wigs to be every girls most treasured accessory.

Our extensive offerings include, full wigs, brightly coloured wigs, ¾ wigs, hair pieces, clip in extensions and fringes, all made from the best quality synthetic fibre. We also sell Eylure eyelashes. We feel assured that every girl can find what she is looking for whether she's a sophisticated it girl, a burlesque performer, pin-up model, an indie and gothic babe or a classic beauty.

Our resident wig expert and salon owner, Kelly Winn will be imparting her extensive knowledge of wigs and hair extensions to give us hints and tips every issue on how to keep your look fresh.

To give your wigs a different look try pinning them up with grips and pins, plaiting them, or try a flower in your hair. Wigs are so versatile, you can practically treat them like real hair.

For a different look, I love twisting mine up into a side bun with grips and pins, then putting a big red rose just above the bun. It looks really stylish, and holds in place for as long as you want it to.

1. Make a ponytail either at the back of your head for short hair, or at the top of your head if you have longer hair.

2. Place the flexi-comb at the top of your head, and slide the comb firmly against your scalp

3. Hold the top of the wig in place while you locate the flexi-comb at the bottom of the wig and slide it up into the nape of your neck.

4. You can cover the seam with a headband...

5. Or style your own hair over the seam; with or without a fringe.

¾ or half wigs are a fantastic way of looking glam in minutes. What’s so nice about ¾ wigs is that your own hair is at the front, so it doesn’t actually feel like you are wearing a wig. They are really easy to put on and the flexi-combs keeps them in place all day.

From its humble beginnings in a room above a pub in Nottingham, Heresy n Heelz has developed into one of the biggest and most unique events of its kind in the UK. The formula was simple: to create a club night for the ultra-well dressed, around a highly polished and professional burlesque stage-show. Latex-lovelies rub shoulders on the dance floor with burlesque betties, a multitude of alternative cultures brought together by a common theme of a passion for “dressing to impress”, encouraged by a competition for the best ones with £600 in prizes.

Their huge stage emblazoned with a banner proclaiming “More Teeze than Sleeze” has seen luminaries of the International cabaret scene including Empress Stah, The Vivid Angel, Natsumi Scarlett presented by their resident compère the legendary Rosie Lugosi. Special guest hosts have included comedian Mat Fraser & Dr Clive of 80's cult band Dr & the Medics, whilst talent closer to home comes in the shapely form of twisted cheesecake expert Miss Pink & Fluffy. Music is courtesy of a string of top DJ’s, all presented on the stage, starting with 40’s & rockabilly and progressing via industrial to culminate in full-on hands-in-the-air trance 'n' acid.

Always going the extra mile to offer their guests quality and value for money, there are traders providing an alternative market where you can buy everything from steampunk to stockings, bespoke corsetry & designer latex aplenty, and one could conceivably amass a complete outfit under the one roof…with even a wig to set it all off !

With regular attendances averaging around 300, Heresy n Heelz is one of the biggest regularly running burlesque nights in the country, its certainly just about the best-dressed, and the entertainment is stunning. They describe it as a “Fusion of Decadent Dance, Alternative Culture & Cutting-Edge Burlesque”… we couldn’t have put it better ourselves !
