ME AS AN ATHLETE• Middle and long distance runner, regular athletic activities during University studies • As a student I represented University club Slávia UK Bratislava in Czechoslovak

League, National championships, at the International Road races, Vivicita, etc. • Performances, results: 3 times Slovak Indoor Champion at 3000 m, 6 times silver

medalist at Slovak Championships at 3000 m and 10 000 m (outdoors) and cross country, bronze medal at Czechoslovak Student Games at 3000 m. Personal bests: 3000 m 9:49,59 (1988), 10 000 m: 36:15,7 (1988), marathon: 3:03:22 (1990 in Bremen/GER, just as a challenge upon request to be member of Bratislava Team)

MY PRIORITIES• To support the athletes as they are key persons in sport of athletics.

To listen to their voices, needs, ideas and mutual cooperation with the Member Federations before implementation of the fundamental changes.

• To respect and keep traditions and classic roots of the athletics with sensible implementation of innovations to attract older and younger generation.

• Where is no memory for the past there is limited perspective for the future.

• Athletics should harvest from its history, traditions, heroes and stories in the whole scale of athletics events but at the same time to keep the pace with evolution and implementation of innovations, new events (e.i. Street Athletics) in favour of popularization and future development of athletics.

• I support implementation of modern, newest technology to make athletics more attractive, to serve the spectators at the stadium and TV spectators as much as possible. I am in favour to keep equal position of all athletics disciplines – sprints, running, jumps, throws, race walking.

• I support gender equality and equity in EA and its commissions, to give also to the women adequate possibilities, chances for further education.

• I dedicated most part of my life to athletics, accepting challenges: as an athlete, coach, referee, official on club and federation level, as co-organizer of international event, always ready to do my best on each position. I dare with great respect to take this challenge – to candidate for the position as Member of EA Council to share my knowledge, experience to contribute to the development of European Athletics, which would mean also my personal development.

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Slovak Athletic Federation (SAF) I would like to ask you for your kind support and vote for SVK candidate Mrs. Anna Kirnová for the Election 2019 for the position as EA Council Member.

I know Anna several decades, since I had been an athlete, later as director of Army Club Dukla Banská Bystrica, as well as President of SAF and Vice-President of the Slovak Olympic and Sport Committee.

Anna dedicated her life to the athletics with passion, enthusiasm and responsibility. She, without any gender equality support, became the first female leader of SAF and she has helped a great deal to build good reputation, credibility and respect of SAF, before and after the split of Czechoslovakia, since 1993 SAF became Member Federation of IAAF and EA. She knows many aspects of athletic federations´ life, being in many positions, included serving 14 years as SAF General Secretary, always ready to do her best in favour of athletes, coaches and officials of Slovakia, EA and IAAF Member Federations. She has been always keeping Fair play principles and having values of a person with Integrity.

I am sure that her experience, knowledge, skills and personal qualities will be for good use for the European Athletics.
