ABOUT ANN MARTIN CENTER

Ann Martin Center (AMC) is a vibrant nonprofit East Bay organization that serves at-risk youth through psychotherapy and educational support programs. We provide the skills and support that are critical in nurturing happy and healthy children. We offer clinic and school-based psychotherapy at 9 Oakland elementary schools and our main clinic in Emeryville and serve over 1,100 children through over 30,000 treatment hours annually. Approximately 70% of clients come from Oakland, and 30% from neighboring communities in Alameda County. About 75% of our clients are African American, Hispanic or Asian. Established in 1963, the agency is named in memory of Ann Martin, MD, a pioneering behavioral pediatrician and youth advocate. Dr. Martin was among the first in California to lead research on psychological and educational intervention for social-emotional problems in childhood.

GALA HONORARY CHAIR: MICHAEL WILD, CHEF & OWNER OF BAYWOLF RESTAURANT

In 1975, Michael Wild co-founded BayWolf Restaurant in Oakland, creating one of the most elegant, inviting, and lasting culinary traditions in the Bay Area. Michael has

been a pioneer of California cuisine integrating influences from Tuscany, Provence, and the Basque country. The restaurant closed in 2015 after a remarkable 40 year run.Michael nurtured a pride in craft for every aspect of the experience at BayWolf. At the same time, the bistro earned a well-deserved reputation as a gathering place for the community, attracting a

devoted following. Over the years, friends and colleagues of Ann Martin Center have enjoyed many an hour at BayWolf celebrating life

and gastronomic delights. Prior to his incarnation as a restaurateur, Michael was an English and Humanities professor at San Francisco State University. He and his wife Jill have three sons.
