Clockwise from the Top Left:
-A Fountain Pen: Simply used as visual inuence for the basic appearance of the
Fountain Pen featured in my animation
-Luxo Jr.: Ive taken inluence from this animation, both in terms of its concept
and its presentation. The stong character that comes from these two simpleobjects is something I wish to carry over into my animation. Ive also taken de-
cided to take a similar, minimalist style in terms of the setting, using a simple, at
plane in the same way Luxo Jr. does
-The Brooms from Fantasia: Ive drawn considerable inuence from the way in
which the personied brooms move around in Fantasia, notably, in the way that
my Fountain Pen stands and walks around
-Spongebob and Squidward: Ive looked at these two characters not because
of their visual appearance, but because of their relationship. The two charac-
ters possess contrasting personalities which contribute signicantly to humour ofthe scenarios in which they are placed and this is the exact relationship I want
for my Fountain Pen and Crayon characters
-Crayons: Simply used as visual inuence for the basic appearance of the
Crayon featured in my animation
-Purple Tentacle from Day of the Tentacle: Initially I looked at this character as
movement inuence for my Fountain Pen, but it proved more useful as inuence
for my Crayon character, providing me with a simple squash and stretch hop-
ping animation for the Crayons movement
