Adaptation

A body part or behavior that helps an animal meet its needs in its environment.

Mimicry

An adaptation in which an animal looks very much like another animal.

Moth uses color and pattern camouflage, a type of mimicry, to blend in the rain forest floor.

Mimicry – nonpoisonous animals mimic poisonous ones. Biological mimicry is widespread in nature. Many

poisonous or otherwise unpalatable organisms display warning signs, such as black and yellow or black and red stripes, to deter would-be predators. Batesian mimicry to refers to non-poisonous organisms which closely

resemble poisonous ones.
