Consultancy Psychosocial Support Consultant, AUB-Center for Civic Engagement (Oct 2015

– April 2016)

In this project, I was responsible for providing psychosocial interventions for

approximately 1900 Syrian refugee children and youth in Lebanon through providing

immediate training workshops and manual for 27 teachers to address children’s issues

and needs in a holistic manner and to place psychosocial interventions inside wider

developmental contexts such as education and healthcare. This has created an

integrated developmental approach to promoting psychosocial wellbeing.

Program Support Consultant, Asfari Foundation (29 Feb to 25 March 2016)

The overall purpose of the Consultancy was to provide support to the Foundation’s

Youth Empowerment Program in conducting an assessment of a teacher training

project for young Syrian refugees in Lebanon, to help the Foundation assess whether

or not to fund the project. I was responsible for the following outputs:

Preparing for, and attending, and debriefing on meetings and field visits to the

teacher training organisation (LASeR), current trainees, the training provider

(Lebanese International University), and other related experts and stakeholders

(such as other teacher training organisations);

Providing critical questions, assessment and expert analysis on both the

organisations and projects visited and on teacher training for Syrian refugees in

general;

Providing his reasonable view on and assessment of the organisation and teacher

training project, including his recommendation on whether it should be funded by

the Foundation;

Critical assessment of and feedback on a written recommendation on the project

for the Foundation’s Board of Trustees (to be written by Sarah Bradley).
