It began when the Agnlo-Saxons of Germany settled on British soil. They quickly reshaped Britain’s political landscape. This period is also known as the Dark Ages, referring to the scarcity of written articles about the early years of invasion. Notable terms include war, the breaking up of Roman Britannia into kingdoms, religious conversion, battles against the Vikings, the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, and the development and adaptation of English. 2. What are epics? Epics are lengthy narratives in verse form that depict the heroic accounts of a person or group of people. The typical elements of an epic include superhuman deeds and adventures, told through dramatic language and a blend of lyrical and theatric traditions. 3. What are heroes? Heroes are people who are characterized as having heroic qualities or have performed heroic acts. Heroes are often regarded as models or ideals. They are the main protagonists in epics.
