1995The fringes of the city

photographic installation

part of Photosynkyria festival

“The fringes of the city are the criti-cal points where its fabric becomes ragged, where its cohesion is inter-rupted, where the indifference of the planners becomes obvious, where its dignity unravels, where the arbitary and the mean are glorified. This unravelling demon-strates the condition and the raison d’ etre of the city, the critical line between the social and the natu-ral, between solidarity and the law of the jungle, between what is city and what is not.”(from the exhibition catalogue)

2004Wish List/Prallel Lives

In these performative photographs I am depicted in various snapshots of my “ideal” life. The prints mimic printing errors by duplicating the image of the self. The presence of another person, is always implied in the scene.Parallel lives would be days of communication, exchange and be-longing, altough it becomes clear that they are about absence, day-dreaming and loss.
