For much of its history, Australia's bush music belonged to an

oral and folkloric tradition, and was only later published in print in

volumes such as Banjo Paterson's Old Bush Songs, in the 1890s.

The distinctive themes and origins of Australia's "bush music" or"bush band music" can be traced to the songs sung by the

convicts who were sent to Australia during the early period of the

British colonisation, beginning in 1788. Early Australian ballads sing

of the harsh ways of life of the epoch and of such people and

events as bushrangers, swagmen,drovers, stockmen and shearers.

Convict and bushranger verses often railed against government

tyranny. Classic bush songs on such themes include: The Wild

Colonial Boy, Click Go The Shears, The Eumeralla Shore, The

Drover's Dream, The Queensland Drover, The Dying Stockman and

Moreton Bay.

The music ofSoutheastern Europe or Balkan music is

a type of music distinct from others in Europe. This is

mainly because it was influenced by traditional music of

Southeastern European ethnic groups and mutual music

influences of these ethnic groups in the period of the

Ottoman Empire. The music is characterised by complex

Folk art encompasses art produced from an indigenous culture

or by peasants or other laboring tradespeople. In contrast to

fine art, folk art is primarily utilitarian and decorative rather

than purely aesthetic.. Folk Art is characterized by a naive

style, in which traditional rules of proportion and perspective

are not employed. Closely related terms are Outsider Art,

Self-Taught Art and Nave art.

AUSTRALIAN FOLK ART

Indigenous Australian art (also known as Australian

Aboriginal art) is art made by the Indigenous peoples of

Australia and in collaborations between Indigenous and Non-

Indigenous Australians . It includes works in a wide range of

media including painting on leaves, wood carving, rock carving,sculpture, ceremonial clothing and sandpainting. This article

discusses works that pre-date European colonization as well as

contemporary art by Aboriginal Australians based on traditional

culture. These have been studied in recent milleniums and have

gained increased international recognition.

EUROPEAN FOLK ART

Arts and Crafts was an international design philosophy

that originated in England[1]

and flourished between

1860 and 1910 (especially the second half of that

period), continuing its influence until the 1930s.[2]

Led

by the artist and writer William Morris (1834

1896)and architect Charles Voysey (1857-1941)

during the 1864and inspired by the writings of John

Ruskin (18191900)and by Augustus Pugin (1812-

1852), it had its earliest and most complete

development in the British Islesbut spread to Europe

and North America.

It was largely a reaction againstthe impoverished state of the decorative arts and the

conditions by which they were produced.
