    COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This course acquaints the students with learning activities in the different phases of the

    lesson. It will involve the discussion and analysis of the motivational strategies affecting the

    students participation, as well as the processes, methods and techniques used in the various

    aspects of the lesson.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    At the end of the semester, the student should be able to:

    A. COGNITIVE AIMS1. Identify the appropriate learning activities and to come up with the most effective

    activity in uplifting the students participation.

    2. Examine and analyze the different phases of the lesson.3. Understand the role of individuals participation in a classroom.4. Analyze the various methods and techniques in the phases of lessons.

    B. AFFECTIVE AIMS

    1. Value the role of being a student of PA10 and enhance ones image, of becoming agood teacher.

    2. Be confident of ones ability to moldthe self and ones environment in order to be aproductive teacher.

    3. Prepare the students in teaching strategies with the awareness of circumscribed

    behavior brought about by the students individual difference inside the classroom.

    GRADING

    Student must at least get 60% or better in order to pass the course. Submitted

    requirements, examinations, quizzes, assignments, recitations, and assignments shall be

    graded accordingly.

    Coursework will be weighted as follows:

    Major Examinations (Prelim/Midterm/Final) 40%

    Quizzes 30%

    Classroom Participation/Recitation 15%

    Projects/Others 10%

    Attendance 5%

    TOTAL 100%

    Major Examination

    There will be three (3) major examinations, to wit: preliminary, midterm, final, within the

    semester. It will consist of approximately 100 items and shall cover all the topics that have been

    discussed during such term. However, a comprehensive examination on all the topics that have

    been discussed during the semester may be given during the final examination.

    Quizzes

    There will be quizzes (probably one every end of a topic). Quizzes will relate to current

    and previous topics. A quiz may be given at any time during any class period -- immediately

    after a lecture, at the beginning or end of a class, etc. There will be no make-up quizzes -- none

    even later during the same class period except only for justifiable reasons. Quizzes will be given

    only to those students who are present when the quizzes are passed out.

    Recitation

    Students may be called to explain or give his opinion on the subject matter of discussion.

    The manner of choosing a student who will recite will be done randomly. They may also be

    asked to participate in group dynamics and will be graded according to their participation.

    Projects

    A project will be required from the students from time to time. It may be a group or

    individual project; it will depend on the difficulty of the task. Project shall consist of but not

    limited to submission of term papers, critical analyses of issues, or case studies.

    One absence 95%

    Two absences 85%

    Three absences 75%

    Four or more absences Failed

    Absences for which a medical or court excuse is provided (noted by the Universitys

    Guidance Counselor) will be recorded but not figured in the attendance grade. Likewise, one

    absence for which advance notice is given by phone or in person will not be figured in the

    attendance grade. It is also provided in the Universitys Faculty Manual that the instructor hasthe option to admit or not a student who is late in the class for more than 10 minutes.

    Also, anyone who has more than three (3) consecutive unexcused absences will receive

    a failing grade for the COURSE as provided in the Universitys Student Manual

    CLASSROOM POLICIES

    1. Attendance is checked regularly. Latecomers will not be admitted after 15 minutes.2. Wearing an incomplete/improper uniform will not be admitted. Likewise, proper dress code

    should be observed during wash day.3. Electronic devices (cellphones, ipods, mp3s, etc.) need to be turned off or muted during

    class.4. Requirements for the subject should be submitted on time. Late submission shall not be

    accepted.5. Students who are caught cheating or plagiarizing materials shall not receive credit.6. Food and beverages are not permitted in the class.7. Any student who exhibits dishonest, disruptive, or disrespectful behavior faces the risk of

    suspension or expulsion from the institution.
