NOVEMBER 9TH TO 18TH 2012 Coastal and Island Wildlife Experience THE EXPERIENCE Most people’s experiences of ‘sand and sea’ involve deck chairs, volleyball, umbrellas, and beachside holidays. The coast has so much more to offer! The Gerry Martin Project is taking a group of enthusiasts on an experience that will reveal a very different side to this amazing ecosystem. We’ll be exploring Nature and wildlife, assisted and guided by the best in the field. Beginning on the East coast of India, we will base ourselves at Rom Whitaker’s farm, located on the edge of the Vallam reserve forest. Here, Rom, as well as his legendary tracker friends, members of the Irula tribe, will help us to explore, giving us a unique perspective of the forests they know so well. Next will be the Centre for Island Ecology in the Andaman Islands. Led by research staff, we will explore the fascinating habitats both above and below water. We’ll get to dive, camp and immerse ourselves in a truly spectacular realm!
