2016-17 Doyle Yearbook Needs Your Help!
Have some pictures you would like to be considered for the
yearbook? Getting them to the right person is as easy as 1,2,3!
1. Download the FREE Pictavo Community app to your phone and create a login
*Doyle Elementary’s School Code is 57223
2. Take pictures!
3. Upload them into Pictavo Community! **IMPORTANT: When uploading give a BRIEF description of the photo in the section titled “who’s in the photo” (rather than listing names) – Example: 1st grade field trip to Zoo (teacher’s name)** *Only the Yearbook Committee will be able to see the photos and consider them for use in the yearbook) *If you DO NOT want your child photographed, please inform your teacher and they will pass this along to the yearbook committee. Picture Guidelines: *Pictures should include multiple students. *Pictures should be from field trips, class events (NO birthdays please), assemblies, candid shots from daily class life, Halloween, Dr. Seuss Day, etc. Any Doyle event is a perfect time to take a picture! *Please choose carefully which photos you upload for consideration, the limit is 20 per login account.

What is PTA?
The PTA is the Parent Teacher Association. It is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America. Today’s PTA is a non-profit comprised nationally of more than 4 million parents, teachers,
grandparents, caregivers, foster parents and other caring adults who share a commitment to improving the education, health, and safety of all children. We speak with one voice for every child.
Why join PTA? The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your child’s school. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed
for parents as well as students. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences. By volunteering with your PTA, it can be a way for you to more effectively suggest
change at your child’s school. It is also about supporting families new to Doyle, the UC area, and even the United States school system. PTA membership is open to everyone: It doesn’t matter if you’re
a parent, student, educator, business leader or community member. Everyone is invited to join our not-for-profit parent association.
Why is a PTA needed in a public school? Simply put, there is a gap between the funding that our school receives and what it needs. As caring
and responsible parents, family, friends, teachers, and staff, it falls upon us to help narrow that gap and ensure that our children have the best elementary school experience that we as a community can provide. Funds raised by PTA memberships, donations, and events are used for a large variety of
activities and goods that benefit all of Doyle’s students and the school as a whole.
What does PTA do at our school? Our Doyle PTA raises and donates over $25,000 each year to Doyle!
Here are a few examples of what the Doyle PTA has organized and paid for.
When do I have time to volunteer? “When do I have time to volunteer,” you ask yourself, “I am too busy being a parent!” Please believe us, we completely understand. Every member of the Doyle PTA is a volunteer, no one is paid. We all
have busy lives and highly value the limited free time that we all have. That said, volunteering some of that time, even just a small amount, can prove to be just as valuable, not only for yourself, but for your
children as well. Remember…Volunteers can help as much or as little as they can. Can you spare a little time maybe once or every now and then? Well, the PTA can use your helping hands and smiling
faces at any of our events. Do you have more time to give? Please let us know and we can find a leadership opportunity that fits your comfort and interests! No time?! No problem! At the very least,
please join the PTA. Every little bit counts when it comes to our children's education! Anything helps and is greatly appreciated!
