Queridas Families and Guardians,

Welcome to Kindergarten at Lakes International Language Academy. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. My name is Macarena Cassillas (Profe Maca) and I will be your child’s teacher for this school year.

I am originally from a beautiful city called Sevilla in Spain but I moved to Madrid to spend my college years studying at Centro Universitario Villanueva. I graduated with Bachelors of Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I was one of the Language Ambassador that helped in second grade in 2018-2019. I love every little piece LILA is made of and it makes me feel really lucky to be here as a teacher.

I am part of a big family. We are four siblings and I am the third one. The oldest is my brother Kiko who lives in China and works as a soccer coach. Maria is the next one, she lives with my parents in Sevilla and she is working as an engineer. Our youngest sibling is Cova, she is 18 years-old and she wants to be a lawyer. She is studying law in Sevilla. I love to spend my free time with them and our favorite activity is playing board games all together. I also love reading and trying different things: from food to sports. I like to give everything a chance.

I am thrilled with this new adventure LILA gives me and I hope that this gives you a little insight of who I am. I am very excited to meet you and your wonderful child at Welcome Conferences and Kinder Parent Night at the end of August. I would like to talk with you about my goals and aspirations for the year and learn about your child. Feel free to bring any questions or concerns you may have with you.
