IFM R9 – Major Differences1. Not major differences between R7.8 and 9, but from R6 to R9 plan on time to get

familiar with where the Tables, Transactions, and processes are located2. Plan on modifications to your existing IFM Work Intructions if you are coming

from Release 6 3. R9 Power Link Icon Names have Changed – for example, Settlement Lines is

now AR or AP Amounts Due – this Webex will help you view these changes !4. R9 – Many IFM Tables and all Transactions are still performed at IDF Level 1

(Screen Scraper format)5. Tremendous use of Workspaces for separation of AR, AP and GL IFM

Transactions and processes.6. Improved Card Files, Cards and Summary Data7. Many of the IFM Table Maintenance functions can now be performed in Power

Link, but not all Tables. Many of the Tables are now located on the “Codes Compound Card” which you will see in this Webex

8. GL Interfaces are the same but have a different ‘look and feel’9. Aging and Statements generated from Personal Accounts10. IFM System Management – Now in Application Administration at Level 1

(Applications, Tasks, Users, IFM Suspension,etc.)11. Settlement Line Maintenance (Due Date/Narrative) must be done via Personal

Account Statistics or Personal Ledger Inquiry (with CTRL H Option) in XA R9 IFM at early releases.

IFM R9 Main Card – Old vs. New

You still have IFM Tables, Transactions and IFM System Management. Most functions are at IDF Level 1. The key is learning in advance where your processes and files are now located in R9.

R9 – IFM IDF Level 1 and IDF Level 2

IDF Level 1 is a Screen Scraper and functions just like Green Screen and EWP with a few exceptions

IDF Level 2 is basically the same as Browser with full Maintenance capabilities – notice the Icons for Add, Change, and Delete, etc.

R9 – IFM AR

To Perform Transactions and MANY Table Maintenance in R9 – requires the use of IDF Level 1.

Basically a Screen Scraper of your old IFM Green Screen processes.

AP Additional Tasks

It is a great idea to make sure to put the “Personal and GL Inquiry” as well as the “On-Line Biz Inquiry” on your

AP, AR, and GL Additional Tasks Menu – still work great for your Team!

‘Additional Task’ Menus are limited to 13 Tasks (maintainable in CAS as normal). You can link to new ‘Additional Task Menus’ if necessary at R9 from Menu to Menu.

Important: You can only have 2 IDF Level 1 Menus open at a single time. This can become a bit frustrating but creating a Custom User Menu CAN help sooth a frustrated user who wants more than 2 processes open at the same time !!

LSB – IFM Offline Transactions

Regardless of your need to load AR, AP or GL Transactions, the IFM Legacy System Bridge that allows you to feed Offline Files into IFM is located under the “Other GL Tasks – Offline Transactions” Card

Functionality of the Legacy System Bridge is the same, and all your existing LSB Transaction Types migrate without a problem.

Offline Transactions is available under Other AP, AR, and Other GL Tasks.

R9 Security Considerations

Page 43: An Overview of IFM R9 “Who moved my Stuff……..” IFM at R9 CISTECH Tuesday Education Session Series Jim Boyer CISTECH – Sr. XA Consultant

Security maintenance is split between IFM and CAS Security applications

• New PowerLink functions• Are secured using CAS Security

• Must be locked and authorized to appropriate personnel

• Corresponding green screen tasks are still active and are maintained separately

• If you configure security in test environment, you will need to re-apply when you go live

• Your auditors will want documentation of new security settings

R9 Security Considerations

Page 44: An Overview of IFM R9 “Who moved my Stuff……..” IFM at R9 CISTECH Tuesday Education Session Series Jim Boyer CISTECH – Sr. XA Consultant

R9 Security Considerations• IDF Level 1 security

– LOTS of new tasks in the task definition file that must be secured

– IFM• Access to tasks is still controlled by IFM Security• Lock these if you want to turn off some or all of these tasks

(roll them out as users are trained…)

– Other Applications• IDF L1 tasks control access to the application functions• Lock these and authorize users as appropriate
